As long as your computers have a connector called a serial port on your motherboard then you will be fine. If you dont then you need to get an adapter to usb.

How can i update dell dock?

A docking station is an extension or addition of ports for a laptop computer. Once the portable computer is docked, you can access the docking station's ports, such as PS/2 or USB 2.0 ports, through your computer. Some docking stations have monitors that you can connect your computer to, placing your video on an external screen so you can turn off your computer's monitor and conserve some of your computer's energy. All Dell docking stations will have the same general troubleshooting steps.

Plug your laptop's power adapter into the docking station and dock your laptop onto/into the docking station. If there is no power going to your laptop from the docking station but it works when the power adapter is plugged into the wall, the docking station is bad and needs to be replaced. Plug your power adapter into the docking station and dock your laptop onto/into the docking station. If power goes on but your computer doesn't recognizes accessories such as a USB mouse--plugged into the docking station, try a different port on the station. If it works in a different port, the previous USB port is burned out. Plug your power adapter into the docking station and dock your laptop onto/into the docking station. If power is going through the docking station but no accessories are being recognized, you might have a corrupted docking profile. Undock the computer and dock it again once it has fully started up to reset the docking profile. Plug your power adapter into the docking station and dock your laptop onto/into the docking station. If you have an external monitor and it is not working, completely close the lid on the laptop so the image will move to the external monitor. Plug your power adapter into the docking station and dock your laptop onto/into the docking station. If power is going through the docking station but no accessories are being recognized and resetting the docking profile fails, update all drivers through Dell's support website and then re-dock the computer. Some of the software that runs the hardware may have become corrupted. Hope this helps

Well a computer user mostly afraid and suffers from virus attacks. Virus is the unwanted program that destroys your data and some times also damage the computer.
One of the most common ways of virus attacks is by connecting USB to your computer.
So today I will tell you some tips which can avoid or minimise the chances of virus attacks.
Always keep in mind the following points before connecting a pen drive to your computer.

1. Always use a good antivirus in your system.
2. Never open the pen drive directly.
3. before opening the pen drive, scan the pen drives for finding the possible viruses in the pen drive.
To scan the pen drive go to My Computer->Right Click on the Pen drive->Click on Scan option(Remember Scan option will only be there if there is any antivirus installed on your system)
4. if any virus found and the antivirus is not able to delete the virus, just safely remove the pen drive from your computer.
5. If no virus is found, do not double click on the pen drive to open.
Always open the pen drive by Right clicking on the pen drive and then clicking the explore i.e.:
My Computer->Right click on pen drive->Click on Explore
6. Always beware of copying the unwanted files on your computer. Just copy the file which you want. Never do a select all, copy all thing. Just copy the item you wanted, and paste into your computer.
While pasting the data you should never paste it on C drive (Drive that contains your operating system). Always copy data in a separate drive then C drive.

Memory is full and won't download. Have the latest update, but can't transfer to pen due to memory full most likely. Not sure what to do to get it to clear the memory and get the latest...

Hi i am glad to be able to help you with this. I had the same problem and this is what i did.... 1) Open livescribe desktop 2) Dock your livescribe pen. 3) Click on the audio tab on the top left hand corner. 4) Left click on your last audio download 5) Release the mouse and hold down the shift key on your keyboard and at the same time pressing the arrow up key until all of your downloads are selected. 6) Right click on the page with your mouse and select from the shortcut menu " Remove audio from smartpen ". This will remove all your recordings from your smartpen but they will be saved on your computer(livescribe desktop). Please note that the process of clearing your pen's memory takes a while ( approx. 5-8mins for 1GB). Your livescribe desktop may indicate that it is not responding but don't remove you pen. When your pen's memory is cleared it will be indicated on your desktop. You will also notice during this processthat a pen and a computer are highlighted on your pen's display.

i hope that this helps.

My computer does not recognise my home dock

This issue might occur due to the USB port, USB cable being faulty or the settings on the device are corrupted.

To resolve the issue, you can try switching to another USB port on the computer. It can be either the back or front of the computer.

Then perform a soft reset on the device while the device is still connected to the computer. This will force the computer to recheck the device connected to the computer.

There must be a soft reset switch at the bottom of the device. You need to press it with a ball pen tip or any other pointed material for 20 secs.

If the issue still persists then make sure you have not disabled the USB adapter in the device manager. You will need to renable it from there.

If the issue still persists then it could be possible that the dock itself is faulty. You can try using a different USB cable like that of a digital camera and check if it works with the GO 930 device.

In addition, to isolate the issue, you can also check if the device works on any other computer
