RCA TV I have a RCA HDTV. For the past month or so it has been turning off by itself, sometimes even turning on itself too. This past week it would only stay on ten minutes tops and now it will not even stay on a minute. The power light comes on but no picture and within a minute it shuts off. What's going on?

Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

A problem in the deflection board. Could be a Cap. Resoldering the deflection board may take care of the problem. You need to call a TV man to do this kind of work.

RCA 52in HDTV will not stay on

I would turn the circuit board over and check for clod solder joints and cracked solder, you will have to look close, my other sugestion would be to get a can of freeze and spay the different IC's and see if it stays on longer.

Horizontal and Vertical Hold is malfuctioning and there is not manual adjustment

The fault is most likely in the sync amp section, or in the video detector section, or the area where the sync extraction is done. It is very common that some of the electrolytic capacitors in the mentioned areas become worn down with age.

An experienced TV service tech should be able to troubleshoot the sync areas, locate the faults, and replace the defective parts.
