If the white spots are appearing in different spots or "Moving" it is the DMD board beginning to fail. Samsung DLPs seem to have a lot of DMD board failures. I would expect it to completely fail in the next couple months.

If there are only a couple small white spots that never go away it could be a mirror that is seized on the chip, but it's far more likely that the DMD board is going bad.

SOURCE: Own a Samsung DLP TV 42 inch and white dots have

The random whit dots you are seeing is more than not the DMD or million little mirrors board. The white spots represent some of the mirrors that are sticking in the on position. In that case they are always reflecting white light from the lamp. I don't concider the DMD board a do it yourself repair since on the older DLP set it requires mechanical alignment as well. The best thing to do is contact a techincian and see what they might charge to repair the TV for you. Please take a few moments to rate my answer...Thanks..

SOURCE: two little white bright dots

these are lit pixels! which can only be caused by a bad dmd chip (the micro-mirror-device). the chip can be replaced but it requires an experienced technitian to align the chip so your picture is straight, centered and in focus.

It seems you might have an issue with the dmd board. Go to the menu, and if the dots still show on the menu, the issue definitely is with the dmd board but if they don't come up on the menu, the issue will be with the video board.

SOURCE: white dots all of screen

sound like you have a bad dlp chip. this happens to a lot of samsung dlp tvs. some of the mirrors are stuck. they can appear as black dots or white dots and it usually gets worse over time.

Light bulb

White dot for DLP Projector TV is not because of the light buy. It is caused by aging DLP chip ( DMD Chip.) Your TV DLP Part should be the following image:

Three small white dots have appeared on the screen. What does it mean, is the lamp going bad?

White dots are caused by the DLP chip failing. This part must be replaced to get rid of the white dots. Samsung is covering the cost to repair this problem on several models. Ypu can call 1-800-samsung to find if your unit is covered.

White dot on my samsung DLP 42" screen

Hi,
white dot is from a failure in the dlp chip. it controls 1000s of tiny mirrors which help make up your pix, when the mirrors get stuck a white dot appears. over time more will pop up. Probably in the $300-$500 range to have someone repair.

I have white dots on the screen of my hsl4266wx/xaa?

If these dots are only seen when the picture is on I would look for the Optical Block to be causing it. Are the dots in the same place each time you turn it on?

Have little white dot's on screen will changing

Highly unlikely the bulb could be at fault; it sounds a lot like a defective DLP chip. If you are not aware of how this device functions, it is an array of physical mirrors which can fail individually and cause the effect you are having. The bulb failing would cause a loss of the entire screen, not just a few points.
