SOURCE: RCA STA 3850 stereo reciever keeps blowing output

Check the audio output section circuit for shorted component/s. Your set need a through checkup. Contact any service technician. If output fuse blow up frequently, never connect it to any speaker system. The voice coil to the speaker will burn up. In fact, the speakers will be useless. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

I have an RCA STA 3900 stereo reciever that wont turn on. Standby light is on. Tried resetting it from the back but didnt work. Please advise

A standby condition can mean a fault in the receiver. voltages in the system are off. This can either be a bad diode or power transistor.

I have an Optimus STA-3500 Digital Synthesized AM/FM Stereo Receiver. If I buy an i-pod is there a place on the back of the receiver that it can be plugged into? If so, what kind of i-pod wire/cable...

It won't have "iPod" functionality but it can be played through the receiver.

Any audio device that has a headphone output can be adapted to feed an RCA cable pair for standard stereo to any audio device with a standard RCA input (except one labeled "PHONO"). Get a cable like the one described here: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021804&p_id=665&seq=1&format=2
and connect it into any available analog input EXCEPT one labeled "Phono".

Wiring diagram

See if this link is of any help. I know how crazy these new wire colors can be. I don't know why they don't keep it simple and universal meaning all constant power be red, alt power blue/white, ground black, etc. etc. Even my Hyndai has crazy wires. my red is lf speaker, yellow, lr speaker, etc. Goodluck with it man.
