Hi, did you change, capacitor for compressor too. check compressor overload switch,(relay) normally located on compressor terminals, (where you connect wires to compressor) that's the device that goes klix when compressor goes to start, could be faulty, or maybe low voltage from your mains(house panel) check line voltage, with digital volt meter, some compressor won't start if voltage drops to low, yes fan will work, could also be, your compressor has a lock rotor, (hard start), you can buy a compressor hard start kit, from appliance store, and try to start compressor, or maybe compressor internal winding, are damage, especially now in summer, when you got a lots of voltage drops, check compressor winding, check compressor winding for short circuit, remove cover on compressor, remove 3 wires from compressor terminal, use ohm meter, put one tester lead on copper tubing that's connected to compressor, and next lead to compressor terminal, one by one, if you get beep (continuity) from anyone of those compressor terminal, you got a short- circuit in compressor, you will have to replace compressor, but if there's no short, them try hard- start kit, replace overload relay, you will see it at compressor terminal location, after you remove cover. good luck.

And don't forget that if there is a start-relay is replaced and or a start capacitor to do a job that will forget the most people to also clean the axles and relubrication of the bearings of the fans , It prevents more problems

Look for 1 more capacitor, and you have a 50/50 chance it will work again. it's a starter capacitor.

Do you know what could be the problem?

All the motors including the compressor on the outside unit have start/run capacitors. These can fail and when they do, the motors wont start

Replaced compressor on 2007 Kia Sereno and compressor wont kick on. What's the problem? Please help.

ac compressors are controlled by relays , switches , high and low pressure switches and fuses
replacing the ac compressor will require the gas charge to be administered as too little or too much will affect the high/low pressure switches
have it inspected by an accredited ac specialist shop for a proper diagnosis and a quote

Carrier 48NMX042 IFM wont stop, condenser fan motor and compressor wont run

Ok first thing is it sounds like a wiring problem. So first step is to make sure the thermostat is properly connected. Which... the main thing here is there needs to be 24v dc power coming from your control board (transformer) going to the thermostat..generally that is the red wire. All the thermostat does is connect that "red" wire (power) to one of the other wires to complete a circuit. So make sure you have 24 volts... (generally about .5amps) . if you have power than switch thermostat to fan only should energize the green wire only. then switch to ac and move temp low enough that the ac should turn on and that should energize the yellow wire. for sure one of those wires is incorrect now or the fan wouldn't be on OR THE THERMOSTAT IS NOT CONNECTING THEM AND IT IS BAD. Now about the compressor and fan.... those same wires run out to the compressor unit... ok the yellow for ac.. greeen does not go to compressor unit that is for fan only (vent).. red carries the same 24 volts... one difference here is that most carrier units only have the one transformer....so you run the red wire is the +pos 24 volt..and then a "common " wire is needed which is the Ground or neg... that wire on a carrier is brown usually but could be different depending installer. The orange wire goes to the pump reversing valve it is always energized when on ac mode...when heater is on in the winter it is heat pump and is not energized so just connect the orange and yellow together... tell me more specifics if this doesn't help and i'm sure I can help you... thanks Chuck

When ac compressor engauges you can notice strain on engine . Shortly after that a line came off condenser with a loud bang. The line that broke goes from compressor to condensor. Now compressor is noisy....

The head pressure got too high on the ac system, when you have the ac compressor replaced, and it`s components, make sure the condenser is flushed out good, and that the cooling fans are working with the ac,they need to come on with the ac,if this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

9/20/09 I just had the same problem with the same model

With rooftop air-conditioning units two issues are commons and that not clean unit that slow the fan and that effect the compressor, check the fan and see if the housing clean and no debris and as far as the compressor it is don and you need to replace it, I am sorry to tell you the news but on the other hand you can get used one now very cheep and they do work good. See if you contact local dealer that serves them and ask for used one or call campaign world and ask them to look for one for you…let me know how that work for you and please do not forget to rate my service so we can improve on it with your help. God bless

Ac is not working i think is a relay because the ac cluch wont star

If you have cooling fans, then it could be your compressor itself. If you hit the A/C button, and there's no cooling fans, try a new "Cooling Fan Control Module" it's a common problem on early 2000 VW's.

Ac compressor. is making a ticking noice

This is normal, the compressor is spun by the fan belt, and when everything equalizes the pulley stops moving. This repeats over and over again.
