Sold fine working no problem laptop 3100 on Ebay 2 days ago shipping took one day buyer said it comes on then shuts off .We never had a problem w/this laptop and the buyer said it was not damaged during shipping. He charged the battery for 12hrs and called back and said he wants a refund could he have switched the mother board or something or is it just a simple fix thank you.could it have been dropped in shipping w/o signs of damage or what it was just fine I mean I really did not want to sell it for the small sum I got and will be glad to get it back but what worries me is my friend Melissa said people switch parts out and say it was broke when it got here.I doubt that's the case but I thought the buyer would call and say how great a deal he gotten well can you help he's sending it back and I'd like to know when it get's here if it's the same one internally or not and if it is how to fix it Thanks again Bob

Unless you wrote down the mother board p/n code, hardrive p/n code and the p/n code on the case you really can't tell if its the same.also if you sold it as is you don't have to refund.you can try to flash the bios or switch the ram sticks out.if none of this works then it sounds like the buyer switched parts or give you back a broken one.you can try to boot the harddrive on a different comp and see if it works or has the same users on it.

Hi Bob,

Although there's really no way to know if he's scamming you or if it was dropped in shipping it is quite possible it wasn't shut down completely before shipping and the battery died in transit. If this happened it may simply be stuck in a power cycle.

Ask the buyer to unplug the power and remove the battery. Have hime hold the power button down for 30 seconds with the battery out and ac disconnected then have him put the battery back in and turn it back on.

If it was stuck in a power cycle this should fix it, if not we can try to diagnose it further once you have it back.

I want to take my stuff off of ebay I have listed cuz they r sold

To end a listing early and cancel all bids or sell to the high bidder:
  1. Go to My eBay > Selling and find the item.
  2. From the More actions drop-down menu, select End My Listing Early.
  3. If there are bids on your item, choose how you want to end your listing.
    • If there are 12 or more hours before the end of the listing, select Cancel bids and end listing early or Sell item to high bidder.
    • If there are fewer than 12 hours before the end of the listing, your only option is Sell item to high bidder. Note: If your item has no bids, you can skip this step
  4. Select the reason you're ending your listing early and click End My Listing.

Resolution centre ebay

According to the Paypal process when you file a claim for an item that is significantly not as described, you must return the item at your cost in order for Paypal to issue a refund for the amount you paid, not the return shipping costs. You have 10 days to provide Paypal with a tracking number. Paypal doesn't allow you to post a reply. You send the item back or in 10 days the claim is closed.
Buyers are being forced to pay to received goods the seller didn't described accurately, and in some cases, honestly.
I think that is wrong.
When you can prove that an item is significantly not as described, then Paypal should refund your entire costs of the item including shipping both ways. Sellers can take advantage of Paypal's forcing buyers to pay for return shipping.
If a buyer doesn't like something or changes their mind, and wants to return it, then the return shipping should be paid by the buyer.

I sold an item on Ebay. But Before I gave the customer a shipping charge.he payed througth paypal an amount which was less thanthe fee which the Post office charges.Because the actual fee is greater he...

Hi,

FIrst you need to check your site preference if you allowed the buyers to edit the payment totals, if it is set up as yes you will need to disable it.

well, the buyer should pay whatever amount of shipping that you have placed in your listing. If the buyer will fail to do so, you can report this to Trust and Safety by using the link below
http://pages.ebay.com/help/contact_us/_base/result_3_6_10.html
click the email us link at the bottom

It will be your discretion on what you can do about the buyer, you can issue refund and then add the buyer in the block bidder buyer list. Unfortunately, this buyer can still leave you negative so please do be careful in dealing with this type of buyer. You can grant the buyer's wish to cancel, file a cancel transaction and you will get the final value fee credit.

In the future, you may want to add a shipping table in your item description so that buyers will see it before they purchase your item.

I hope this helps you a little.

Hi i just sold an item and the money from the item was posted into my account however the money from the shipping and handling was not?

Hi there!
Once your item is sold, the system will generate a fee for that which is called the final value fee. It is a percentage eBay took for successful completed listings but it will be taken away in your bank or credit card at the end or mid of the month depending on your billing cycle. (please check your invoice in the Account tab, right side invoices)
But if the shipping cost is not included in the invoice sent to the buyer, check your listing and make sure that you didn't choose free shipping. If your shipping calculator is set but the buyer paid no shipping cost, you can then ask the buyer to pay for it. You can send the buyer a manual paypal invoice.
Here's how you can create a manual invoice using your PayPal account:

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click Request Money.
3. Click Create a Money Request or Create an Invoice.
4. Enter the required information.
5. Click Continue.
6. Review the information and click Request Money to send a money request or Send Invoice to send an invoice.

You can also ask several people at the same time. Just enter their email addresses, separated by commas.

I hope this helps. Have a great day!

I sold an item on ebay and the buyer didn't like it; says it wasn't what was described but it was returned badly damaged. How am I expected to issue a refund?

Hi there!
If you received the item you sold in a bad condition, you can report the buyer to the resolution team of eBay although it will took too long for them to take action. Here's the link that you can use to report the transaction: http://pages.ebay.com/help/contact_us/_base/result_3_6_2.html
I hope this helps you. Have a great day!

Does he have a pre-recorded MiniDisc that he can try it with? It could be that a cable wormed its way loose, or the laser took a dump during the shipping. Hard to tell. Try the pre-recorded disc first, then you might end-up having it back.
