You can try fomatting it.to do so plug it and open my computer.go to the drive of the mp3 and right click it.in the sub menu click format(to foramt it you have to be administrator)(also be sure backup all of your music, videos, pictures, and anything that you want to save.) when it says disk or drive it means the ipod.go to my computer and look at what letter it is example (D:)

I got a 1st gen 1 gb ipod nano and i dont know the lock pass

to sync it you will loose what is on it. if you want your own stuff on there you can set up an itunes account with paypal and not have to use a credit card. This is the only way around the security

Ipod nano 2gb cannot be synced required disk

Hi,

1. Run "c:\WINDOWS\system32\devmgmt.msc" (this is the Device Manager), this will need to be used later, but you'll need it quickly when you do.
2. Start i Tunes
3. Connect i Pod
4. Go to your i Pod Settings and select "Enable disk use"
5. A dialog box will pop up reminding you that you'll need to manually eject. Hit OK
6. Hit Apply to save changes to the i Pod
7. Quickly switch to Device Manager window and right-click on any item there and select "Scan for hardware changes"
8. Switch back to i Tunes, where you should have a nice, working i Pod!

Let me know, if problem still persists.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Apple nano silver 2 gb

Use iTunes 8 to sync or delete songs, photos, etc. Just connect the iPod to computer, download iTunes 8 from the internet, open iTunes 8, and then double-click on the icon of the iPod Nano to Sync files to your Nano.
The manual for the iPod Nano can be found at www.apple.com/support

Downloading music from computer

Musicmatch songs won't work on Ipods. Musicmatch has been discontinued since it was acquired by Yahoo last year. If you have songs in MP3 format those can be used in ITunes.

UHG!

your computer has its own personal i-tunes for your i-pod and all your music is saved to that computer so if you plug your i-pod into someone elses computer it will eighther sync all thier music to your i-pod or it will erase all the music on your i-pod they dont have on thier computer...my sujjestion is to buy a plug in to the wall charger for your i-pod if your barely home to charge it. that way you keep your music yet charge your i-pod to.
