Cleaning tank on Saniflo/Sanibest

Had to disassemble because the cat dropped a toy in the toiled and it jammed the blade. Man, it was funky in there !!!! Wondering if we can/should use something like Rid-X on a regular basis to help keep the tank cleaner. Thanks

We have a maserator in en-suite which serves the toilet & shower, We moved in to house 6 years ago and it was already here. After having guests stay a couple of months ago the maserator hasnt worked properly. When we flush the toilet, the water rises and whilst the cistern is filling with water, there is a humming noise for a couple of minutes, then the water rushes back down and there is a clonk and the water bubbles back up through the shower plug hole.Any suggestions as to what this problem is & how to fix it please?

For poucha re blocked saniflo. Your symptoms describe a blocked saniflo outlet. As you flush the waste cannot pump out normally so back pressure builds up and the water bubbles back through any other inlet/ outlet (the shower). There should be a non return flap inside the saniflo to prevent this but its not 100%. Your guest have flushed something they shouldnt, and it has made it past the pump and into the 22mm pipework - remove unit and clean it & the pipes.

I would not use it. It's an added cost for stuff you'll just dump out. There should be more than enough bacteria in the system to clean it as much as it is going can be cleaned.

How much water should be in the bowl of a saniflo best pro

How much water does the system use? All models in the Saniflo line are low consumption. The SaniPlus, SaniAccess (2 and 3), SaniBest Pro uses 1.28 gallons (4.8 liters) of water per flush.

The water wont go down and the motor is huming. What can I do?

Humming as in has power but appears to not be doing anything? If so, it's likely stalled because of a jam or clog. Going to have to put on some gloves etc and explore the tank for starters. My recollection is that Saniflo has all their installation, maintenance manuals online (Google is your friend ;) ). Be sure the unit is unplugged before opening up the tank! It's possible, although less likely that the clog is in the piping leading to the macerator or in the bowl, you can try a plunger also... Good luck!

Macerating pump comes on by itself

Hi,
Either the toilet is leaking water through or the check valve on the outlet pipe is not seating completely and allowing water to return to the tank.

Saniflo sanibest continually running , noisy ...

The float switch will be the problem.
We do not replace the switch, just change the unit as labour to strip and replace switch makes it un economical.

My saniflo xr is bolcked i need to remove the top to clean it

Easy - All you need is a "star" driver and a flat blade screwdriver to flip the plastic retaining clips up. You should wear rubber gloves to protect your hands from "nasty stuff" getting into cuts etc. When you get in there it will probably be a bit gunked up. I have previously put the mains cabling into a plastic food bag and taped it up, filled the saniflo up with a warm bleach / water mix and left it for a while.

Give it a swish around and them empty it into a drain. I also have used a hosepipe in the past to really clean it out. Pay attention to the inlet pipes and the area under the float switch / motor.

I would strongly suggest cleaning the actual feed pipes into the saniflo as these get furred up as well.

Good luck!

Can a saniflo 003 toilet be installed with only the 005 tank, or does it need a macerator?

depends on how you use the unit. the macerator chews up paper and other unmentionables.I would suggest you use it as one unit.
