Is a Vestax VR-3S cartridge compatible with a Technics 1200 turntable?

If tt has a magnetic cartridge, you need a peamp unless the amp has a magnetic cartridge input.

It's a variable , since it's depended on more parts, but just clean it first and gently turn it until the platter moves correct,assuming you
mean to correct the variable resistor(potmeter) . If the value was everywhere the same, then you don't need a variable resistor:)

Years ago, Radio Shack sold a turntable with the same problem. The fix was to purchase a pre-amp to go between the turntable and the tuner/amp. I think this had something to do with a magnetic vs. ceramic cartridge?

All you need to do is look at the cartridge. It should have a number on it. Put that into google and you should find the answer!

You could be getting acoustic feedback from the speakers to the TT's. Lower the volume or somehow isolate them from room sounds and vibrations.

You'll need what's called a STANDARD Mount cartridge. In addition, that cartridge will need to be mounted to a Standard Mount Headshell.

Make sure you connected the turntable to the PHONO INPUT of your Vestax Mixer. If so, then the problem might be with your mixer output, or your sound system. You will need to test each unit individually to determine what the issue might be.
