I'm using a Mac with OS 10.5.7 to print to a HP colour laserjet CM1015 MFP. The printer all works well, but the HP Director software doesn't appear to recognise the scanning option. In HP Director the Scan buttons are not highlighted so can't be clicked

Check your network configuration and the ip
addresses. Turn off your printer and your notebook then turn on the
printer first and then the notebook. Sometimes, this is caused by the
ip address that doesn't match in your machine and your printer.
You
might, as well, try to check the printer properties and go to PORT and
check what the ip address of the printer is and it has a check mark.
Compare both ip on the properties and the actual ip of the printer.
Another option is to add port in the printer properties, this should resolve the issue. Thanks.

I eliminated everything except two new non HP majenta and cyan cartridges. I removed the cyan cartridge and replaced it with an empty magenta cartridge, giving me 2 magenta cartridsges and althought it didnt printy, it staretd to pick up the paper so paper feed was working. I knew then that the cyan cartridge was faulty and changed it. All works now

Hi, This is the problem of printer settings. So reset printer from printer properties in control panel. clean the toner drum and the cartridge properly, then reinstall the cartridge. make sure that the toner of cartridges are not bad and not get damp. check the fuser also.
