TV's picture and sound goes off. Had to cycle Mitsu WS-55513

THERE IS, aside from having the set taken to a shop, One other thing you can try---

NOT THE RESET BUTTON ON THE FRONT OF THE SET!

If the original Mitsubishi remote works on the set---this set has a hidden menu---it also in that menu has a HARD RESET---puts set back to the condition is was when new in the box--will come back on on channel 3 in the air band and any labels you placed on any of the video inputs (ie--named a input DVD etc) will be gone.

If you have OSD but no video either you have some problem with a single voltage coming out of the power supply(shop repair) or if you had a power outage or the power cord was removed with the set on---the hard reset may fix it---nothing to lose--set is not usable now---

Let me know if you want to try the reset and I will tell you how----

NO PICTURE, NO SOUND On My Plasma TV.

Should have been 3300 UF 10V caps that were bad? Shouls have been replaced with 3300UF 18V. 50V is huge. If it was replaced with a 50 the polarity may be wrong or the cap it too big to be seated property. Sometimes the caps just dry out and even a normal looking one will be the culprit of no OSD. Are you getting an LED fault code blinking? That should be a red led. Do you hear the relay clicking.? When you replaced the caps did you charge them? Just plugging in the set without trying to power it on for about 20-30 mins. I may be able to help you

Faded pictures it is caused by leaky or short capacitor it could also be power supply problem causing the optic engine and light not to work correctly, or you could have a bad DM board, or a bad light engine sounds like a bad DM board find six of the fourteen known-problem caps to be visibly bulging -- both 3300s and two of the four 1000s on the PWR PWB plus two of the four 1000s on the FMT PWB (see photos below). Ironically of the four 1000s on the DM PWB, which I have heard are the most common to go bad, were bulging and I considered skipping these as the DM it is the toughest board to extricate from the chassis, however I figured I had come this far and I would just as soon replace all twelve 1000 uFs as the parts cost $0.23 and I really never want to have to do this again.

If I had to bet, the two 10V 3300uF caps on POWER board, which were actually leaking black goo, are the actual culprits, but with four of the 1000 uFs also bulging it is probable only a matter of time until they failed as well.

Here is the POWER PWB with the known-problem caps (C9A37, C9A38, C9A51, C9A52, C9A61 and C9A62) highlighted:

here's the FMT PWB with the known-problem caps (C8F19, C8F21, C8F22 and C8F27) highlighted:

The DM board is the one with the digital connectors on the back panel. If you already have it appart, you may as well check the caps on all of the boards. The caps that go bad are typically Jamicon brand caps in 1000 uF and 330 uF values. There are also a couple of 3300 uF caps in the PS that cause problems.
