I am trying to take the door handles off my Maytag plus refrigerator so I can repaint them. my model number is MSD 2756GE. how do I remove the handles

Yes, they should be able to just push them straight up flush with the door, do it as gently as you can, once it slide up about a 1/2 of an inch, they should pull straight out and off, let me know how you make out. Rick...

These door handles are held on by clips and are hard to remove at maytag they gave us a plastic card that you slide up under the handle and pull upward on the handle to release it from the door. DO NOT remove the inner door skin!!! the handle slides off and the screws and clip are under the handle.

UHG.. SHUT OFF THE WATER.. YOU WILL NEED TO PULL OUT THE FRIDGE AND CHECK THE VALVES ( SOLENOIDS )THERE IS 2 OF THEM JUST FALLOW THE WATER LINE, SOMETIMES THEY CAN BE CLEANED, I WOULD SHUT THE WATER OFF TILL THESE GET REPAIRED ! IMPORTANT ! .. THE FRIDGE WILL FREEZE UP AND STOP COOLING PROPERLY !! .. JUST USE ICE TRAYS AND A JUG OF WATER UNTIL YOU HAVE TIME TO REPAIR ..JAY THE POOL PUMP MOTOR REPAIR GUY IN LONGWOOD FLORIDA

Find your model number and download the maual. The last 3 figits HES there is a problem with the number you passed. I am using this manual as a reference:

If your unit has the mini handle on the top right or top left gently lift and swing the door open. If you have the lone horizontal handle on the front of the freezer door it just pulls open and slides out.

If this is a NEW unit... you must remove the shipping tape from the door (2 to 3 places) to get it open.

turn both control to the same number the lowest number and then wait 24 hrs if you want it needs to be cooler move both controls 1 number then wait 24 hrs and see if you are happy

For my Maytag Refrigerator Model # MSD 2756 GE, I had to hold the "Light" & "Lock/Unlock" buttons simultaneously until the "Change Filter" light went off instead of the "Water" & "Lock/Unlock" buttons.

Fully defrost this unit. Leave it open and off two about two days. Clean the condenser. Open the back and find the compressor and the largest pipe on it. Start the unit. It should frost and flash off to either wet, ice or dry in 5 minutes. If it stays frosty, call for warranty service. No idea what the snapping is.
