I have an older Sandisk clop, 4MB. I'm looking for somplace to get music to record on it. Who still supports these older MP3 recorder/players?

Hi I have just bought a Sandisk Sansa M250, we loaded som music on it and it lasted 2 hours, then it the message came "Not enough space for music DB please free 8 MB". I couldnt even go in to the menu. I contakted Sandisk.com and 24 hours after they came up with an answer. If it's currently frozen, hold down the power button for 20 seconds in order to soft reset it. Let's try to format the player (THIS WILL ERASE ALL FILES FROM THE PLAYER). Plug it into your computer, then open My Computer, right-click the drive associated with the player, and choose Format. It may give you a choice of file system, if so, choose FAT (it may only let you choose FAT32, which is fine). Now click on Start and it should format the player. If not already done, please also update the firmware from this link: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1368 The 20 seconds on the power button didnt work, but the formation did. 1. I assume you are using a USB Port to connect the device?
--Yes - Continue - If No, please specify connection method

2. Does using another USB Port on the PC make any difference?
--No - Continue - If Yes, that port on the PC is not functioning.

3. Are other USB devices that you plug into the PC detected?
--Yes - Continue - If No - the USB system on the PC is not functioning - upgrading or reinstalling the driver might work if it is not a hardware malfunction.

4. Did you install any type of driver for the Sandisk mp3 player?
--No- Continue - If Yes - uninstall and reinstall the driver.

5. Do you have another USB cable to try with the device?
-- If No, try another PC.

Double check p. 17 of the manual for a firmware upgrade, in case this message is caused by a db corruption, but the error may also be caused if your player is in the "lock" or "hold" position.

on mac - try going to view and selecting 'clean up selection'. not sure - i think it just worked on mine.

SOURCE: Hello, having trouble with my mp3 player SanDisk c140.

Solution is pretty simple.

Go to Settings on your device -> USB -> Change it to MSC.

When you connect it to your computer on Win2000 it will show as a drive. Open the drive you should see the folders. Drag and drop your mp3's into Music* folder. Or your videos into Video folder and your Photos to Photos folder.
