Hi everybody, My beloved S5000 went off two month ago, while i was taking picture during a landing as passenger ................the last photo taken was wonderful, then the display went white! :-( :-( :-( The shutter itself will continue working , but every picture taken was absolutely white!! I tried a lot of times to reset the camera, as the fuji maint center explained to me when I called them , but nothing. During this multiple test 5-6 time the camera worked properly for some seconds then WHITE!!!!!!!!!!!!
My s5000 has the same problem. My screen is now white when it used to work fine. The shutter is working properly but it only takes a white screen picture. The camera lets me enter menu settings and the display for that is fine, but when it's time to take a picture it will only take a white screen picture even though the shutter readings appear correct. Can you help me?

When you turn on the camera the viewfinder and LCD monitor are blank (white). It seems like the camera is working fine in every other respect except you can't take anything but a picture of the white screen. I have tried taking the batteries out and pressing the DISP button among other things.

This appears to be loose connector to the motherboatd from the screen. Try gentle squeezing of the casing near the bottom of the body This may do the trick- otheriwise it is a workshop job and frankly not worth the cost - the money would be better spent on a more uptodate camera.

I have got an S5000 that I can still view previously taken pictures from the card, but when trying to take pictures the screen and view finder shows a peculiar distorted purple and green picture and any picture taken is just a green blur.
I contacted Fuji and they say they can repair it for £90 (about $120)
Your CCD sensor has failed. Common digital problem that uses Sony sourced CCD chips. Proffesional factory replacement of CCD is only fix or buy another physicaly damaged unit and swap CCD boards. Not hard but intricate and time consuming.
Same here. Any flash picture comes out nearly bleached out. Started from one picture being fine to the next being white. I'm very frustrated because I love this camera. I have a Digi Rebel and prefer my Fuji 5000! Anyone have any ideas?
I have Fuji FinePix 2650 Digital camera with same problem. I can almost guarantee this is not a firmware problem. I went mountain biking a few months ago and take pictures. I take out camera and turn on. I get lines then white screen. I banged on camera and fixed it. Later a few weeks ago I turn it on and white screen. i beat this thing and get bad menu selection screen for a moment then white again. It takes pictures well and talk to computer no problem but no LCD picture. I thinking it is loose connection for LCD. Send it for repair or if you seek adventure try to fix it yourself!

I think you can snap but not get view on lcd right ? and there is whole black on display right ?
If so i think there is some problem with CCD and if ccd is damaged so no one can help you you have to replace it in fuji shop.
