  • fanders Mar 26, 2008

I moved my dishwasher and it wouldn't work.  All it would do was flash two lights.  I don't remember which ones.  Than I took it out of its enclosure and removed the electrical wires and than checked the hoses both drain and fill and the filter for the filler tube.  All seemed fine.  I turned the electricity back on and than only one button flashed and flashed.  It hasn't stopped for several days.  I took the DW into for repair but the schematic isn't with it.  So, he can't do anything.  Where can I get a schematic?  Any other ideas on how to get it to work?  Thanks  My DW is a model 665.

I pressed Anti Bacterial and hi temp scrub which reset light. I then pressed normal wash. Number 95 showed and I pressed start. It is running at this time. Thanks for info on resetting. • vangiep Aug 30, 2008

Started cycle - dishwasher filled and then everything stopped. No power, but circuit breaker not tripped. Is there a reset somewhere or a fuse I need to check? Don't have a manual.

  • stateroofer Oct 13, 2008

i have a simmilar problem. the green light is flashing over the "clean" light. i am going to try your suggestions. thanks. any other ideas if that wont work?

  • sarahbella Nov 30, 2008

I have tried and even created numerous the reset options listed, but my 'Quick Rinse' Light has stayed on. I unplugged the dishwasher, no change. I have open and shut the door, no change. I once got a '2' to show up in the display, but nothing happened, I tried to press start, and then it went back to just Quick Rinse Blinking. I have noticed that it hasn't been washing very well, pretty much just sanitizing, so maybe it's shot? Any advice would be greatly appreciated -- I live on an island, no fix-it person in my vicinity!

clean light keeps blinking and is stopping the disherwasher from working

  • fozzy7 Feb 25, 2009

I have the same problem as those who stated their dishes are not getting clean. If you listen to the wash cycle you should hear water sloshing around inside. If you hear just a humming sound the washer has no water. I have this problem. I had a tech come and he told me the water is syphoning out my drain and I need to change my plumbing, then he charged me $65. I have lived in this house for ten years. 6 with the washer that came with house and 4 with this Kenmore Elite. This problem started about 6 months ago. So what I have been doing is opening the door, after the humming starts and the sloshing stops, and adding about 2 L of water. It seems to wash just fine after that.

Kenmore Elite Smartwash Quietguard 7. Won't drain water, no lights, no power. Hitting the buttons to reset (in any order) doesn't produce any results.

    clean lite only

  • Anonymous Mar 25, 2009

Kenmore Elite leaves specks (grit) on dishes after cycle complete. Fairly hard water. Machine worked great for 3 years, last 6 months or so the cleaning is getting progressively worse. Used vinegar several times, using solid form rinse agent.

We found we had a bilinking green light. Just before, the diswasher had heated but no water filled for the cycle. After examining the control panel, we found that two issues: 1) a wire was loose on each ends of one of the connectors...needed to be re-soldered. 2) a relay switch had gone bad. After the two were repaired, with power supply off, we reconnected all wiring. With power back on, we reset using the "normal" and "sani-rinse" until all lights came on. (We tried the other combination suggestions without success, but thought, it has to be another button with one of those! It was!) Then, before we put it all the screws back in place, we used a screwdriver in the latch compartment to simulate the door closing. It reset. We reinstalled all screws, and it works! Woohoo! A BIG thank you to those who replied regarding how to reset the control panel!!! We could not have completed the job without you! YOU ARE AWESOME! Keep posting good news as you get it! Thanks!!!

  • ts123 May 23, 2011

THANK YOU!!!!!!! The sani rinse+ heated dry combo worked for me.

  • ejh1700 Jul 01, 2011

Read your advise for our Kenmore Elite 665, and it worked: our combination was the sani rinse & heated dry. We are so grateful we found your website and followed your instructions! We thot we'd try this before calling the 800 # for a service call! Whoo hoo!

I have had the same problem with my Kenmore Elite dishwasher. After calling Sears to get some sort of help on this matter, I was given the quick fix on how to reset the chipset inside the dishwasher much like other people have stated on this forum (i.e. press on Heated Dry and Normal Wash buttons in sequence a couple times until all the lights come on). However, the problem kept happening regularly despite my continuous re-setting efforts. I then called a technician that made me aware of the actual source of the problem. There is a temperature sensor inside the dishwasher that will prevent normal operations if the in-coming water temperature is not hot enough. Since I live in a brand new home, I quickly realized that new building code standards require the installation of a heatguard system that prevents scalding by blending cold water with the hot water coming out of the hot water tank. Despite having my hot water tank thermostat cranked way up, the hot water temperature circulating through the house is governed by the heatguard solenoid. Simply re-adjust the setting on that heatguard device to a higher setting until your dishwasher stops manifesting signs of malfunction.

Good luck, hope this helps!

Having problem with my Kenmore Elite, not sure of the model. It was bought brandnew in May 2007- only 2 years old!! It will fill up with water, and then it sounds like maybe a motor is burnt out? You can here a humming, but nothing happens after the water fills. I have let it set for about 1.5 hours after the last load was done- and it is still not doing anything. Tried the Normal Wash and Heated Dry buttons. All lights came on. Nothing is still happening. Am I missing a step? Is the door to be opened or closed? Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had a big dinner tonight- and do not want to have to wash everything!!!

Your model number is not 665. 665 is the code for in which plant it was manufactured. Each plant manufactures many different models.

Your model number is something like 665.13742K60. In this case, the 13742 reflects the Sears item number that is on your receipt.

Our kenmore leaves white flecks on the glasses so we ran some vinegar water through a cycle and that has cleared it up a little but we still have little white flecks on the classes. We do not use a powder but a liquid detergent. When I rub these flecks in my hand with some moisture they dissolve so I assume it is soap. How can i get rid of these flecks?

We use a rinse agent to eliminate this problem. However, cleaning the filters is a regular maintenance issue. One time, a glass broke and a piece was down in the bottom in the filter but we did not know it. Sometimes the top rack would wash, sometimes it would not. The glass had been floating over the hole that sucks water up into the top rack. So, sometimes it floated to block the hole, and sometimes it floated away. After finding the glass in the filter area, (on ours, that involved taking out a lot of screws in the bottom of the dishwasher where the water drains, as well as, the removal of the upper rack and turbo wash arm) we have not had any trouble since! Cleaning the filter is a bit disgusting: unfortunately, it really helps and has to be done! No commissioned sales person every tells you when you are paying all that money for a dishwasher because it is a big pain, but as a general rule with any dishwasher, follow instructions to clean out the filter at least once every 6 months. Use a rinse agent or a detergent with a rinse agent included for a no spot rinse the rest of the year if you don't want spots.

Kenmore Elite, ultra wash , Quiet Wash 4, water flows into the basin then will not do anything else. Sounds like a curcuit trip after water flows. Any suggestions?

We have a Kenmore Elite dishwasher that runs then stops and none of the buttons light up. The problem has to do with a blown thermoresistor. Its a $20 part that you can replace yourself. We've had to replace the thermocouple, heating element and control panel...but the thing is a piece of junk. There is a safety issue here but Sears will not listen to us. This is supposed to be a high end dishwasher but we waste more time repairing the thing than using it. What a headache! I think we'll be junking it soon and buying from somewhere elese!!!!

We just had the issue of the clean button flashing and pressing the Normal Wash then Heated Dry buttons to reset the panel helped. I thank Kenmore 777!

I had a problem similar to yours and I found that my dishwasher wasn't level. After I leveled it, I didn't have the problem repeat. The other issue with the dishes being wet, should be handled by the heated dry option. The air dry, though energy saving, doesn't dry them at all in my opinion.

The clean light on kenmore dishwasher elite keeps blinking and will not stop

That blinking light is trying to tell you that there is something wrong with your dishwasher. Watch that blinking light.... Does it blink 7 times, pauses, and repeats? Or does it blink 3 times (or some other number). The most common problem is 7 blinks which means "water not heating error". This could be caused by a bad heating element, a bad thermal cutoff or thermostat, a bad controller, or a problem with the door latch and/or switches. Usually there is a tech-data sheet located on the other side of the toe-kick panel which will explain the meaning of the varius blink codes, but you might still need to call a technician to fix the problem. Don't forget to put that tech data sheet back so he can find it and use it to fix your dishwasher!

Clean light keeps blinking; dishwaher won't turn on

Hello Brian, welcome to FixYa.
Based on your post I understand your dishwasher is a Kenmore and the clean light is flashing and it won't start, correct ?
If so, this is usually an error code indicating there was a problem in the heating process the last cycle it ran, however if you could provide the complete model number I could speak specifically to whether it applies to your machine and potentially what to do about it.
Thank you for choosing FixYa and I look forward to your reply.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)

KENMORE ELITE DISHWASHER - MULTI-LIGHTS FLASHING

Look at your manual, usually available on net for reading or downloading. Blink lights are often used to code out a problem with various combinations and repetition rates to indicate trouble code number for look-up in manual.
