Problem with loading film in my Nikon F60.

Probably means the film has not been loaded correctly. Look in the manual for instructions on how to do this.

try turning the camera off to load
when loaded turning on should take it to the counter for no 1 film shot

I don't know this model but you can try this.Drop the film canister in and pull the film strip out and place on the film advance sprocket.Rotate the sprocket by hand/thumb until film is seated (1 turn). If the auto feed is working you will be OK. 2 other things ,1 of course load film in dark area, 2 check the batteries on the camera first, if they are week your film advance wont work ,Good Luck.

If you get an "E" after loading the film it means that the camera is still Empty and the film has not loaded properly. The most common cause is that the leader has not been pulled out enough past the red mark. I also like to place a sprocket hole on a sprocket tooth (I assume here that the N80 uses a sprocket drive system like other Nikons). When loaded properly the film should advance to frame #1.
Your "FEE" error is something else again and has nothing to do with the film. Apparently the film was properly loaded if you got that also. "FEE" is an aperture error which you get most commonly when you are in one of the auto modes (P or S) and you don't have the lens aperture set to the smallest aperture (largest number, usually f22). Set the aperture ring on the lens to the highest number.

It is fairly simple. Insert the film canister with the hole side (not the projection) down. Insert the spool of the camera into this hole and slide the canister inside the chamber. Now pull the film out slightly so that the leader (the narrow portion at the end of the film) aligns with the orange mark at the lower right end of the film chamber. Make sure there is no slack in the film. Close the door and turn on the camera.

The first suggestion I would make is to make sure your pulling the film leader out far enough, and the film canister is sitting in place properly. If this doesn't work I would examine the sprocket holes in the film leader and make sure they are not ripped if they are you should pull the film out until they are no longer ripped and then try loading the film again. I will offer a solution under the assumption, that you are not familiar with this camera. Please ensure the film is loaded correctly extending the film all the way across to the orange line located on the right side near the winding post. This ensures the film is positioned correctly and will feed onto the post. Also the film advancer may need to activated by releasing the shutter. Hope it helps. Good Luck!

Most manual cameras have a button to release the film on the bottom of the camera, push the button in and turn the rewind crank (left side of the top of the camera) until you feel the crank suddenly turning much easier.

Check the little gold DX contacts inside the film chamber. If they are bent, try to straighten them (Carefully they can be brittle) If they are stright, try cleaning them with a VERY LITTLE amount of denatured alcohol. If all this fails to help, take it into Nikon.

Quick solution: force a manual rewind.
1. Remove film
2. Close camera back.
3. With the power turned on, press the two rewind buttons together. They are marked in red.
4. The camera will make a rewind sound and will stop after about 2 seconds.
5. DO NOT fire the shutter yet.
6. Put the mode on Manual and select a fast shutter speed like 1/90 sec. Any aperture will do.
7. Load the film correctly as given in the user's manual.
8. As you close the camera back, the film will prewind to the end of roll. At the end of the roll pre-wind the LCD will show you the total number of frames available.
9. Select any shooting mode.
10. Go on and take pictures.
