SOURCE: Powered Or Unpowered Subwoofers For Onkyo TX-8511

Greg- Powered subs are better than non-powered subs (also known as passive subs), anyway I see the TX-8511 has no sub pre-out on the back panel, so you need to decide what sub you will use and run from the receivers left and right speakers output into a subwoofers speaker in from speakers then back out to speakers, look at the back of a subwoofer and you will see like 4 sets of speaker hookups 2 in and 2 out, what this does is takes the low end or bass and drops the signal to the subwoofer then takes the mids and highs out to your left and right speakers, unless your regular left and right stereo speakers have large woofers a sub is the way to go.

On my Onkyo TX-NR737

Hello Anthony, try your Onkio, with other sources of sound, example DVD or CD and check that the sound is clean and shows no error
Then, look for another player with Blue Tooth connection and try, if you have the same error, you may have to update the Firmware
You go on the Onkio page and you search in downloads and by type of equipment and model, then you download it in an empty Pen Drive, without any file type, then you place it in the Onkio and download it
If this does not correct the fault, I suggest you look for a specialized technical service
Greetings Franco Dosil

I have an onkyo tx-nr636. Is it possible to pair bluetooth headphones?

No, you cannot do this. Onkyo is just a "receiver" to receive signal not a "transmitter". The receiver requires a "host" to send signals via bluetooth to it in order to playback instead of sending signal to another receiver, your bluetooth headphone. Bluetooth earphone also needs a host (a smart-phone)to send signal to it to playback for you. Any attempts to ask onkyo receiver to send signal via bluetooth will be in vain.

How to connect Sony dvd player to onkyo TX-8511 receiver

The TX-8511 is an older AV receiver with only composite video inputs. Your DVD player may not provide this type of output as it's not capable of HD video. If your dvd player has a composite output with a Red, White & Yellow set of outputs, that will connect into the Video 2 inputs on the receiver. Your TV will need to connect up to the Video2 or Monitor output. You'll need a set of composite video cables with the red-white & yellow RCA type plugs.

Here is a link to the manual for this receiver:

How can I hook up BIC F12 subwoofer to Onkyo TX-DS838 receiver? Will the receiver power the subwoofer and other speakers?

Get a RCA cable and connect from your amp where it said Sub Woofer in the Pre Out box in the back of the amplifier top left hand side and take it to the "Sub In" located in the back of your Sub woofer bottom right hand (White round connector).
Good Luck!

How do I connect my Ipod classic to my onkyo tx-sr504 audio video receiver ?

Perhaps you just use a cable like this:

24806182-o2xiqwfhpbqb50rejnrszwmj-1-0.png use the tulip plugs and plug them into the AUX of the amplifier. Then at least you can play the music via the receiver.

I have an Onkyo TX-8522 stereo system. I am trying to connect my iphone to it so that i can play music there (both from Pandora and from my own music from itunes). I was wondering if this was actually...

Yes it is possible. Any audio device with an earphone out jack can be connected to a receiver by using the CD input or the AUX input jacks (white and red) on the receiver. All you need is an adapter cable with the stereo 3.5mm plug on the iPhone side and the 2 RCA connectors on the receiver side. You can get these for $2 or so at Amazon.com or at Radio Shack. Adjust the volume and select on the receiver, the input you used to connect and enjoy.

See above link for one example of the cable.

I have a TX-8211 but I am out of town looking at Internet Radio tuners. Can you tell me what type of inputs are on the Onkyo? I know it has the black/red spring loaded wire inputs but are there other...

Your tuner will be the limiting factor regarding sound. The Onkyo accepts any stereo analog input via RCA connectors, period.

Those "black/red spring loaded wire inputs" are speaker outputs and if you hook one of those to an innocent audio device's Line In connections you might kiss it all goodbye.
