Difficult without a Letter/Numerical Model Number, but this seems to indicated it has a left hand thread, which means it turns clockwise to undo. That was my first thought, so I looked for a manual.

Wrong. You need black body to check accuracy of IR thermometers (unlikely that you will have one). Accuracy bellow 50F is +/-3F and other ranges is +/- 1.5% of the reading.

most multi-meters have its generic functions resistance, potential, etc. your manual is for extra padding in the box it came in. but if you are in need of a multi-meter then your technical knowledge should far surpass the multi-meters manual.

It sounds like your battery is bad. If yellow and green are on for more than 15 minutes it probably a defective battery pack. See page 8 in the manual.

see you local ryobi dealer as this can be 2 different faults in the same unit.
