SOURCE: Kenmore Elite slide in range F30 error

I had the same F30 error problem but fixed it. On my professional series Frigidaire, there are 2 resettable red button locations. I discovered that only one is in the rear of the oven. After going to the breaker box and shutting off the power, pull out the stove enough to work, unscrew the rear screws (I didn't unscrew all of them, just enough to work back there). The small red button is on a small black round piece with two purple wires feeding to it. That was not my problem. Mine was the other red button behind the control panel. Pull off all 4 knobs, unscrew by hand the large black rings that are underneath the knobs, pull out the whole panel. Look back and right (below where the right knobs were located) to find the 2nd red small button. Push to reset. Check this one first since it is easier to do.

I have a Kenmore Elite double oven, model 790.48123801.(4 years old). My wife attempted to operate the self-cleaning feature and 29 seconds later an F90 error message appeared, the oven began to beep

Oven door latch error code. The oven door latched but the control board did not receive a signal that the door was latched.
The only time that the latch is used is during the cleaning cycle.

How to unlock Kenmore oven
0helpful
1answer

Oven door locked

Many Kenmore ovens have a control lock that keeps the oven door locked even when the self-clean cycle has not been in use. This feature is meant to prevent children from opening the door or using the controls on the oven. To cancel the oven lockout, push and hold "Stop" for three seconds. Wait 15 seconds for the oven door to unlock automatically.

Reset
After verifying that the oven lockout feature has been released and waiting at least an hour after a self-clean cycle, if the oven door remains locked, try to reset the oven. Disconnect power to the range, and wait 30 seconds. Restore power and try again. If the door remains locked, disconnect the power and try to reset the circuit breaker or fuse. Contact Kenmore if the door remains locked after both attempts at a power reset at 800-827-6655.

Keys on the oven are not working so I can not start oven bake

Thanks for posting to Fixya I will be helping you today. You have posted that you have a Kenmore Elite 44173 electric cooktop with a problem. However, you also mention your are having trouble with the oven not working. This post maybe categorized wrong but I will try to answer you question for both a range and oven control.

Sometimes on a cooktop customers will lockout the controls on accident while cleaning. Usually there is a button on the control that you hold for 4 seconds +/- and there is a little simbol of a padlock next to it or you might have to check the owners manual.

Lastly, Ranges may also have a lock out feature that the customer must press 4 seconds too unlock. On select models controls may also be locked out by putting their oven into sabbath mode. Usually the display will indicate a "SAB" to alert that this feature has been set.

*In general the above instructions should help if your unit is locked out.

Happy Holidays!

Kenmore Elite Range/Oven problem.

We had this problem as well, our's locked and we were not able to unlock it.

We found that holding down the stop/clear button on he bottom right of the key pad for 3 consecutive seconds releases the lock.

The locked oven wording will blink for about a minute and then the oven is released completely.

So frustrating...I accidently hit the option while cooking. Talk about panic. I needed to use the oven.
