The fault should be of bad remote control, if the switches at the front panel of the TV works properly. If it too do not work at all, the fault will be of its main system control memory IC. Contact any service technician, if this is the case.
I guess you can't switch the camera off when you are using it. But when you don't switch it off, the battery runs out.
After you charged the battery, what happened. Or next time, when it won't switch off, remove the battery, Then watch what happens after you reinstall the battery and try to switch it on.
If you can switch on the camera the switch is ok. If the camera starts immediately, after you inserted the battery, the switch is blocked. (makes full contact without you touching it). This is a real problem, and I think only can be repaired in the service centre. Please ask before what it will cost, because sometimes it is cheaper to buy a new camera.
