Tiny image on Optoma HD 25 LV after repair.

My Optoma HD 25 LV projector was making a lot of noise so I took it apart to try and clean the fan. When I put it back together, the noise went away, but the image became tiny. What used to be a 100" image is now 12". I've looked at the zoom lever and it looks ok. Any thoughts as to what I may have done and how to correct it. Thanks, Brian

SOURCE: loud fan

if the fan sound is very loud, there might be 2 probabilities- 1) you haven't connected it roperly- 2) the fan is losing its life- so its better to replace it as you can get it for lower prices everywhere..!!

SOURCE: dvd10 optoma projector makes a loud noise

Hi, I'm not sure if it's the same problem I had..
I had it on picture mute, for maybe 15 mins, which may not have been a good idea. While it was muted, it made a sparking sound, and then a very loud grinding noise. When turned off, the lound noise stops, and the fan continues as usual for about a minute. As soon as it's turned back on, the grinding noise is back. But the logo seemed to display ok.

I took it in for repairs, and they said they needed to replace the color wheel to fix the problem.

Found your problem while I was trying to solve mine. I can solve yours. Here is the page from my manual about how to remove/replace bobbin housing. I hope you can make this image larger so you can see it clearly. We're limited as to the size of the file we can upload.

It appears to be an isolator or buffer #34, but I do not think it would have anything to do with not starting.

Why would my projector refuse to start with a seemingly intact light bulb?

If you only have 300 hours on it it should still be under warranty. Before doing something to void that I would check with Optoma techs.

The projector is making a lot of noise. I assume because of dirt in the fan. is it safe to open up & vaccum?

If it is making a noise it is most likely, a faulty fan, you may need to replace it. You could clean it out, very carefully, with a paint brush, and a small nozzle vacuum. DO NOT bang the bulb, be VERY Gentle.

Optoma HD 70 turns on with lamp and temo soiled lights

Asher fadida and alll,

The issue:
solid red error light?
HD70 "die's" after few min with strage noise?
flickers different colors before complete self shutdown?

well try this....

Before replacing your bulb, fan or any other component try first cleaning your optoma realy good!! HD70 doesnt comes with any kind of filter so you can imagine the amound of dust can be.
The most importent thing is to blow away any dust from your color wheel + the sensor attached to it .

for farther troubleshoting clean your fan's.
there are 2 fan's insinde the HD70.

probably the most problems will be solved by cleening the color wheel!!
if the problem is not solved ,chack the lemp and the fans if they work properlly.

For fan replacing:

Picture keeps flickering after 15 min

if you hear chirping, too, replace the colorwheel. also check the lamp timer. if it's close to 2000hours (or the inside of the lamp is bulging or blackened), replace the lamp. if the lamp is new and the colorwheel doesn't chirp, replace the ballast/power supply.

Optoma ep716 continuous loud vibration noise when turned on.

the fan motor could be failing. turn it on with the top off. if one of the fans is moving slower, that'd be the one. since this is a dlp projector, the colorwheel motor berings might be on their way out as well. both need replacement.
