Magnetron is broke eb verything works but no heat

If this is an older oven, or an oven that has heated a lot of popcorn, or other low water content foods, then you might be looking at a magnetron that has become intermittent. The symptoms you describe, however, do not match the symptoms you usually see with this type of failure.

Based on your description of the problem, I'd investigate the possibility of an intermittent power relay. The contacts on these eventually burn and sometimes don't make a good connection. After the contacts first close, there're is an initial surge of current that might make the relay functional for a second or two, and then the damaged contacts no longer make contact.

First, check to make sure that the air vents are clear. Secondly, is the cooling fan running? If these are OK, (how old is this unit?) it's probably the magnetron is old and weak....... Put in a container with 2 quarts of cold water and run it for 10 minutes. It should boil water after about 4 or 5 minutes and keep boiling it for the remainder of the timer preset. If not, the magnetron is losing power.

Magnetron is no longer function. The magnetron resonates at a specific frequency and outputs energy (microwave frequency) which hits your water atoms within your food and excites them (thus providing a friction = heat).

If it does not heat, with all other functions working, the problem lies with the magnetron circuit. The magnetron is the part that makes the microwaves to heat the food. The replacement magnetron costs are close to the price of a new microwave oven, so it rarely pays to have it fixed.

pull your magnetron connector out and clean the both pins with alcohols or a metal cleaner and then fix it again and use. magnetron will work surely.

The Magnetron has stopped working in this case and, you will need a replacement Magnetron heating device. this will fix your heating issue.

Replace the Magnetron. Runs about a 160.00 or maybe cheaper in most cases.

Sounds like the magnetron has failed. It is the magnetron that generates the microwaves that heat the food. If it or the circuit that powers it fails then it stops heating. There are some high voltage circuits that feed the magnetron and you can potentially get hurt if you don't know what you are doing. Would recommend you have it serviced by a professional if you want it fixed, otherwise look for a new one since the cost of repair can come close to the price of a new microwave oven.

It pass the resistance tests and still be bad, and I suspect it is.

I would also suggest that you check the high voltage diode to be sure it's not shorted.

If the filament voltage and high voltage are both present at the magnetron terminals, and not loaded down, but there is no heat, then it's the magnetron.

As a pro with over 20 years of expereince, I have always measured the high votlage, but I will never recommend it to a non-professional. Without the right equipment and procedure, you and your equipment can be "fried". No kidding.
