Use the AUX jack, the old cigarette lighter jack to get a 12V feed. It will work fine as long as you are not using a linear amplifier with the radio.

SOURCE: cb feedback though external am/fm speakers

Hi Big OX,

Terrible problem.  I know what your going though.  Route your AM/FM Antenna wire, and Speaker wires separate from the  CD Antenna cable and power supply wires. If you can,  twist the speaker wires.  If the Speaker wires are run along side the CB Antenna wire for a short distance, you will pickup feedback. If you much have the Antenna wire get near the speaker wires, have the antenna wire cross the speaker wire at a 90 degree angle. Try not to run the antenna wire in paralell with the speaker wires.   Good luck

I have my cb grounded and a wire ran to the postive side of my battery terminal and the antenna wire ran and my cbs channels wont come up we thought it was jus my cb so we hooked another up and it did the...

Hello,

Here is the deal, even with out antennas hooked up, you should get at least your channels on your cb showing, no of course you would have all noise and distortion with out antennas hooked up. And sense you hooked another cb up with same results it tells me, number one, it is not most likely your cb. If your channels are not even lighting up, then this tells me it is not getting power. I know you said that the cb is grounded, and there is a wire ran to the positive post of the battery. What I would do first of all make sure proper wire on cb is grounded and not reversed accidentally, but what i believe is your not getting power to the unit, if it was properly installed, there should be a inline fuse from the cb radio to the positive post the wire is connected to on the battery. I believe there is a inline fuse that is blow, or not a good connection on the post of the battery. To test this theory, take a long piece of same size wire gauge, and run direct from positive on battery to positive post on battery, of course making sure that the proper wire off the cb is grounded (must be grounded to something metal, might find different spot to ground the radio if not for sure on metal) If you get lights going on then on radio, then your problem, was not a good connection or inline fuse on positive wire that maybe you didn't see was blown. Let me know Mike

Wanting to put a cobra 19 dx IV cb radio in my truck and i need to know how do i connect the powersource to the fusebox

If I were you, I'd hook the power source directly to the battery. There should be a plug like rubber thing near your brakes. Take that out and run your wire from the cb radio to the battery. This way the truck doesn't have to be turned on to talk. Just make sure that you turn the cb radio off each time you use it or you'll drain the battery.

I was told I could run the galaxy 94hp on posts in semi truck

The Binding Posts as they are actually known are for hooking up Radios and such and have been a common feature of most truck manufactures for well over 20 years they are for convenience and to help keep down on wiring problems due to folks making poor connections to the trucks wiring harness and Yes they are sufficient to run that radio as most will support up to 500 watt amps.

How do i install a cb radio on a pick up truck

You will need a CB radio antenna, The CB radio and mounting hardware as well as the power wire.

Choose a place to mount the radio. Mount it. Run the power wires from the radio to the fuse box. Put red wire in with the fuse that is hooked to switched 12 volt. Ground the black wire to any metal of the vehicle.

Next find a place to mount the antenna. If you use a mag mount, the roof of the cab is a best bet. Run the wire into the vehicle, it can go through the door, just make sure its not going to get pinched.

Hook the coax from the antenna to the radio

Now you have to tune the antenna. this is important because if you don't you you will blow the transmit final transistor out in the radio.

This link will take you to an article that will explain how to tune your antenna.

Just bought cobra 19 dx and wont even turn on

if you hooked it up backwards first, you blew the protection diodes in the radio. they need to be replaces.

You need to unsolder the old one and put in a new one.

You need to make sure you don't hook it up backwards ever.

Check fuse too!

Open the bottom cover, watch the wires from the speaker as not to pull them out.

Look towards the back right of the radio for a black diode that is burned up. If you have 1 that is burnt, then go to radio shack and get a diode 1n4007. then replace it with that.

And, be careful next time you hook it up.

Ford f350 wiring diagram

I highly recommend investing a few dollars in a voltage test light that has a pigtail and a pin point tip and an indicator light. Just hook the pigtail to a solid grounding point and you can locate a constant hot, switched hot too... then just open the lower dash panel near the fuse panel and probe a bit with the ign off and on. then tap into the appropriate wire. Good luck.
