Refer to instructions that came with valve body, orgo on line and read them
CONTINUOUS FLUSHING:1.The Regulating Screw (061024A, item #4) may be turned RIGHT (clockwise) TOO FAR. Adjust by slowly turning the Regulating Screw LEFT (counter- clockwise) (except -6, -48, -42, -19 and -05 models which are fixed volume).2.If flush is still continuous, close inlet stop, remove Regulating Screw (061024A, item #4), CLEAN bypass slot in the Screw, REPLACE it in the valve and Adjust slowly for proper flush (except -6, -48, -42, -19 and -05 models which are fixed volume).3.CHECK the relief valve in the Handle Cage (060810A, item #12) and see if it is stuck in the open position or fouled by debris. Replace the Handle Cage(060810A, item #12) if necessary.4.Remove cast cap assembly (see Table 1) and Diaphragm/Guide Assembly (061323A - WC, item #7a or 061324A - UR, item #7b, 061376A - UR,item#7c) and check for contaminants at renewable seat and diaphragm and check for debris in the cap for blockage. Also CHECK that the Diaphragm/Guide slides easily in the Renewable Seat.

SOURCE: my urinal is leaking at

There is a rubber gasket between the urinal outlet and the pipe it connects to in the wall. Pull the bolts holding it to the wall and pull it away carefully. If it has been siliconed to the way, you'll have to cut it. Swap out the gaskets. Be careful not to pinch the new gasket. Ask at your local plumbing supply for the gasket of your particular model. They'll know what your talking about.

How to Troubleshoot a Flushometer

A flushometer consists of a metal pipe extending from the back of a toilet with a slender handle on the side that is used to flush a toilet. This type of flush valve is commonly used for toilets in commercial facilities to provide a durable and accurate flush delivery system. If the flushometer does not work properly, troubleshoot it and perform minor repairs. Common issues are often resolved quickly. If troubleshooting does not correct the problem, call a plumber for repairs.

Does Not Flush

1 Inspect the handle assembly. A broken handle or assembly will prevent flushing. If damaged, unscrew and remove the handle assembly. Replace the handle or repair it with a handle repair kit

2 Open the main water supply valve to turn the water on fully. The water supply is normally turned on, but check to make sure it is turned on fully and has not been turned off inadvertently

3 Remove the flushometer's CP cover, the round cap on the very top of the pipe extending from the toilet. Then remove the inside cover directly underneath the cap. Inspect the relief valve. Replace it if it is visibly damaged.

Short Flush

1 Remove the CP cover and inside cover. The CP cover is located on the very top of the pipe extending from the back of the toilet. The inside cover is underneath the CP cover and the diaphragm assembly is located beneath the inside cover. Remove and inspect the diaphragm assembly. A damaged diaphragm assembly can cause a short and incomplete flush. Replace it if it is visibly damaged.

2 Replace or repair the handle assembly. A damaged handle can result in a short flush. If damaged, unscrew and remove the handle assembly. Replace the handle or repair it using a handle repair kit.

3 Remove the CP cover and inside cover to remove the diaphragm assembly. If a low consumption diaphragm is installed on a water-saver fixture or a urinal diaphragm is installed on a toilet fixture, replace it with an appropriate diaphragm.

I have a Sloan urinal that will not stop flushing. I have rebuilt it with a total rebuild kit. I cleaned the inside of all surfaces and I flushed the entire piping system to no avail. It will not stop...

The rubber vacuum relief needs to also be changed if you have not. It is located in the tube that runs down to the urinal from under the flush valve. The handle could be hanging up.....or there could still be sediment stopping the diaphragm from working properly.

Urinal will flush, but will not stop.

You will need a sloan rebuild kit. They are inexpensive, and fairly easy to install. Check Sloan's website, or a plumbing supply house for the rebuild kit. You do not have to shut water off to the entire building to do this work. You will notice a chrome cover on the front portion of the line coming out from the wall. Remove this cover, and you will find a flat head screw. Turn the screw clockwise, and this will shut the flow of water off that is going to the area you will need to work on. The rebuild kit will come with instructions on the install. Again, it is relatively easy to replace. Just make sure you shut the water off, or BIG SURPRISES in your future.

I need a blue print on how a sloan urinal flush valve works and how the water flowes through it. if posable exactly how it works.

SLOAN FLUSH VALVES ARE SIMPLE. IT DEPENDES ON THE PROBLEM. IF THE VALVE KEPS RUNNING AFTER IT IS FLUSHED THE RUBBER DIAPHRAM IS DIRTY OR OLD AND THE RUBBER DIAPHRAM IS GETTING HARD. AND STICKING. THE VALVE WORKS ON A VACUME TO CLOSE THE DIAPHRAM TO STOP THE FLUSH PROCESS. WHEN YOU PULL ON THE FLUSH HANDLE YOU BREAK THE VACUME THAT FORM ON THE TOP OF THE DIAPHRAM WHICH ALLOWS THE WATER TO FLOW AS THE WATER FLOWS IT IS ALSO STARTING TO PULL A VACUME IN THE TOP OF THE DIAPHRAM TO CLOSE THE DIAPHRAM AND STOP THE FLUSH.
AS THE DIAPHRAM GET OLD AND WORN IT GETS HARD AND DOES NOT MOVE AS FREELY AND STICKS OPEN AND WON'T LET THE VACUME CLOSE THE DIAPHRAM AND THE URINAL WILL CONTINUE TO FLUSH. HOPE THIS ANSWERED YOU QUESTION
