I have an Electrolux prolux vacuum. When it got here the girl said it was blowing everything back out. It needed the hose that goes from nozzle to the bag compartment so I put 1 on there. It seems to continue to blow dirt out. Not sure about why.

It is clogged. Check hole behind brushroll. Look through wand. Feel end of hose with machine on for suction

SOURCE: vacuum hose replace electrolux how to

YOU DON'T SAY IF YOU HAVE THE NEWER HOSE OR THE CLASSIC ONE WITH THE STEEL TIP (BETTER DESIGN). IF IT'S THE LATTER UN-SCREW THE SCREW CLOSEST TO THE STEEL TIP,TAKE A SMALL SCREW DRIVER AND LIFT THE THE PIECE OF PLASTIC THAT WAS SCREWED DOWN JUST ENOUGH TO SLIP THE HOSE OUT.
WHAT YOU'LL BE FACED WITH IS SOMETHING I WOULDN'T SUGGEST CUTTING.
IT MAY BE MORE PRACTICAL BUYING A NEW HOSE. AN ELECTROLUX WILL LAST FOREVER,BUT YOU DO HAVE TO REPLACE THINGS LIKE THE COMBO DUST/UPHULSTRY ATTACHMENT. THE HOSE IS PROBABLY THE FIRST THING YOU WOULD NEED TO REPLACE BECAUSE OF AIR LEAKS. I'VE HAD MY OLYMPIA ONE FOR 27 YEARS AND HAD TO REPLACE THE HOSE ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO. YOUR CHOICE.

SOURCE: Electrolux Epic 6500SR Full Bag sensor working, Does not Reset properly

The problem was a sticking switch that was not being reset. The vacuum on/off switch mechanism is comprised of two switches. One is the main switch that turns the vacuum on and off. The second is a shut off switch that gets tripped when the full bag sensor is engaged. This second switch is supposed to get reset when you push the on/off switch on the outside of the machine. The full bag shutoff switch was stiff and it, therefore, was taking a couple of presses of the on/off switch to move the shutoff switch back into the running position.

SOURCE: electrolux Epic 6500 SR series

Ok i found a solution for my Electrolux Epic 6000 which had the exact same symptoms as you describe. I fixed it by disabling the "bag full sensitivity adjustor" (BFSA for short, for the lack of a better term). For that i opened the case, removed the hose that was preventing me from opening complety the casing, unscrewed the transaparent BFSA mechanism.

Here's the walkthrough:

- Open the case: Open the top part of the vacuum (where the bag is)
- Remove the 2 side rubber by sliding them from the back to the front of the vaccuum
- Remove the "plastic cap" at the end of the vacuum (you can slightly lift the vacuum top part to make it easier)
- Now unplug a small air hose to be able to open the case completely.
- Find the BFSA device and unscrew it.
- Now give your vacuum a try... it worked for me.

SOURCE: Electrolux Renaissance power nozzle turning on and off, brass pins hot

The deal with the Renny is that it runs off of circuit boards. Usually the problem of the main motor shutting on and off is caused by one of the Triac boards located inside the canister. Another problem could be the thermostat wire located on the inside of your motor itself. It's almost never the thermostat, so the triac board is most likely the issue.

As far as your power nozzle goes, the head eminating from the swivel body is in most cases due to an older design of the power nozzle. I would suggest investing in a new elbow assembly that includes a new swivel body as well as newer style of wiring that is proved to reduce arcing and heat production within the power nozzle.

In some cases, fixing the power nozzle will fix the problems you are experienceing with the main motor as the arcing happening in the power nozzle can in fact turn off your machine. So investing in a new elbow assembly for your power nozzle could in fact solve the problem in its entirety.

Remove bottom of electrolux prolux upright vacuum. Hose is clogged.

You shouldn't have to remove disassemble the powerhead.
Lay vacuum on it's front. Between the tank and the powerhead is a black flex hose. Pull the end straight out from the powerhead. Then unscrew the tube from the tank using a clockwise turn. Remove the tube and visually check for clogs and splits. Clear or replace as needed.
If there's a clog in the powerhead behind the brush, this can be cleared using a wooden spoon handle or similar object.
If there's no clog in either place, there's a couple other possibilities. First, turn the vacuum back upright, open the hose flap, turn vacuum on, and place hand over opening to check for suction.
If there's a lack of suction, the bag needs replaced, the afterfilter beneath the bag needs cleaned, or the motor needs replaced.
If there is suction, put a coin in the opening inside the port and to the right as you're viewing the front of the vacuum. The coin should drop to the floor. A clog in thes section is unusual, but can happen.
If there is still no suction, take the vacuum to the nearest authorized Aerus Electrolux store for free diagnosis.

When I vacuum with the power nozzle, it keeps cutting off. Do I need to replace the hose or the power nozzle?

Not necessarily. It's hard to tell without checking it out. I strongly recommend taking it to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store and letting the service tech check it.
If you have the "Sidekick", you can try using it. If it still cuts out, it's the hose. If not, the wiring in the power nozzle is loose or worn and needs to be replaced.
Keep in mind that you may not need to replace the hose or power nozzle, just have some wiring repaired.

Power head hose to fit power nozzle PN-4. Electrolux MDL 1401B

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I would advise because this is an older Electrolux Power Nozzle PN-4
Model #1401B that you could buy a replacement hose of which would save you money or you can spend the price for a genuine hose – replacement hoes work just fine and are less money.
