Our Aldi Stirling W60B2A411B dishwasher will turn on but not start. I can hear the 'clock's noise for when the water cycle is meant to start. Also won't drain left over water from previous clean cycle. Does it just need a new fuse or something more serious? It's not quite 4yrs old.

Thank you, tried that and it was clear.
Hubby twiddled with something and suddenly it started filling, then when empty water cycle commenced, got an error code.

SOURCE: Bosch dishwasher SHX33A

I had the same problem. The motor had to be replaced. For as much as we paid for this it has not lived up to the Bosch name. It's never been as quiet as other people talk about, and then the motor went out! It's only 2 years old.

SOURCE: dishwasher not always draining

If the dishwasher drains through the vent pipe on your sink it may be clogged. I had that problem as well. Unscrew the vent cap and look for junk. In my case of all things it was dog hair!!

SOURCE: Neff Dishwasher won't drain

I've had this problem a couple of times with my dishwasher. In both cases, the cause was a shard of broken glass that had managed to get past the filters and jam itself underneath the impellor. Hard to see, but easy to fix. First ladle out the water.
Pull off the lower rotor arm, unscrew the filter and take out the filter bowl, tray and cylindrical filter. Get as much water as you can out of the filter cavity.
Then, using a Torx-20 driver, remove the screw holding the impellor cover and lift the cover off. (this is the small bit of plastic at the left end of the filter cavity.) Check whether the impellor can rotate freely by spinning it with your finger several times - if it jams or grinds, then there's probably something jammed under it. (It may seem to be fine at first, so do check thoroughly, as any debris can move around with the water flow and only jam occasionally) You may have to use a cocktail stick or similar to poke out anything that's stuck underneath.
Glass is a particular problem, since it's almost impossible to see when there's any water around (it's easy to cut yourself too!)

Anyway, that's worked twice for me now - and I didn't have to even move the machine out of its cupboard to fix it.
Hope that helps.

Dishwasher starts in any type of cycle, runs for a minute, then shuts off as the lights blink out.

in general your wash motor can cause that. It gets old and you can hear the wash motor making a rumbling noise when it turns on. The increased load with cause a thermal coupler to turn the unit off.

I turn the dishwasher on and I hear a hum but no water.

Some of the newer kenmore and frigidaire models have a delay start feature. the
dial actually starts the cycle about the 3 o' clock position instead of the 1 o' clock
position. Hope this helps.

The dishwasher will start to cycle. I can hear the water begin to run. I hear a click and at the time the dishwasher should start to run the cleaning cycle. During the cleaning cycle the dishwasher will...

This is probably okay, you have clock like motions running the motor electric contacts. There needs to be a delay between some cycles or shorting will occur. The motor on some designs, for example. is reversed to pump out water. to have this work long term, a delay is inherent and not a concern.

When the dishwasher starts or when water starts to enter dishwasher there is a loud noise.

ther could be something stuck n your drain pump.
the way it works is first the unit drains, the it fills, then it start to wash. now if you hear this noise after it drains then it could be your water valve or after it fills when it starts to wash it could be your circulation pump. it depends on what cycle you hear the noise. let me know if this help by posting 4 thumbs up for this answer, thanks
