I am not familiar with the model but the lid switch typically would have nothing to do with preventing the programmes advancing; the lid switch is typically a safety device to prevent personal injury to the unwary by denying them access to moving parts.
Your description indicates all the aspects of the wash functions are present and working which indicates the problem probably lies with the main controller.
we are aware of what the lid switch does it was a suggested fix from others thats why we questioned it by main controller are you referencing the entire front panel?
The main controller of older washers was basically an electrically driven mechanical clock/time switch that was behind the large knob selecting the programmes. Later machines used a hybrid system that offered a rotary programme selection but used a fairly basic computerised function control.
Modern washers tend to be wholly computer controlled with led displays and buttons to select programmes and functions. Similar to modern computerised cars, the first step to the diagnosis of a fault (after the visual inspection and "common sense" cures have been tried) is to connect it to a laptop loaded with the correct diagnostic software.
As with all computers the proper operation is dependent on the software, software that might be corrupted or damaged by a power outage, for instance...

SOURCE: washing machine refills after spin cycle
Can you hear the pump running if not the machine may be syphoning out, if the outlet is into the down pipe too far this can cause it to syphon. The outlet should only be into it by about 6". The machine will fill with more water on the rince than the wash cycle that will cause the problem. If you can hear the pump running the machine mite be over filling there may a blockage in the presure system if you take the lid off (making sure the powers turned off) you will find a round switch with a thin hose comming off it tace the hose and you should find a small bottle this may be blocked. Hope this helps you.
