When it stops, the "start/pause" button light and the "dryer" light are lit up, but the cycle isn't far enough along to have actually started drying. Water is definitely coming into the machine because when I open it (after it's stopped), my dishes are wet (but the machine isn't flooded either, there's no pool of water in the bottom.) I've read other questions online and it seems to be that I need to reset the console, which makes sense as the dishwasher stopped working last night when several appliances stopped working after a fuse went (all the other appliances are now fully working, only the dishwasher is malfunctioning). However, online advice for my model says that I need to press the "high temp wash" and "heated dry" buttons in quick succession in order to reset the console, but I don't have these buttons on my machine! Maybe because I have the slimline version? Can someone please help?
Try cutting the power to the dishwasher (remove the fuse) for about 30 seconds, then when you put the fuse back in, do it quickly and smoothly so you get a clean power-on without a lot of sparking. This may get the dishwasher controller to do a proper hard power-on reset.
If the problem persists, you may have a hardware failure in the controller. The first thing I'd look for is a failing electrolytic capacitor. Sometimes a power on-off cycle finishes them off. Fortunately, the parts are cheap and readily available from online suppliers such as Digi-Key or Mouser. Unfortunately, you have to have electronic component soldering skills to change them. Often, bad capacitors can be visually identified because the top of the capacitor is domed instead of flat, or for smaller units the aluminum casing is partly pushed off of the rubber or plastic base.
Contrast the bad capacitor on the right with the good one next to it on the left.

QuietGuard3: Clean light flashing 7 times? Press Heated Dry, press Normal Wash, then press Heated Dry again and press Normal Wash again (that's 4 button-presses) and that should fix it.
SOURCE: Clean light flashing 7 times. Can't start the machine
The cleam light blinking means that the unit was not able to reach a proper heated wash cycle. Either your heating element failed orthe actual sump/pump motor system has failed. Check the element in the botton and see if it looks broken anywhere. If you can see a broken spot, you will k now that is the trouble.
Good Luck!

Sounds like a keypad malfunction or the control board has gone bad.
SOURCE: Loud Buzzing Sound from Dishwasher
have you ever seen green led "Clean" light flashing? before or about the same time the buzzing sound started? and if so that would indicate that the control senses a fault in the temperature rise during the heating cycle and that the electronic control could be reset by initiating a service diagnostic cycle.(which is what you were trying to do) pls reread your manual there are times during that sequence that some buttons have to be pushed at the same time and within a certain amount of time..possible that your machine also has a bad timer which would give you a buzzing noise..if thats the case I would recommend replacing the cpu or control board..or the machin all together..The Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard name is sears but whirpool has the contract to produce all "kenmore products.hope that helps.
