Hi Peter,

First of all, when your radio is not receiving, check first other radio it might be, not of the same channel/frequency/CTCSS/DPL/PL, and must be operating in a simplex mode,

If still not working, you can bring it to the nearest Radio shop in your place, to verify the receiving circuit,

Thanks have a great day,

Regards,
Jack,

SOURCE: UHF Busy and cannot recieve transmissions

It is possibly your PL (private line, interference eliminator code, tone code) has been changed or turned on. Check your programming to see that your radios are identical. If you have further questions please let us know the name/model of the radio, so we can be of more help.

One of my cobra two-way radios will not recieve after about 20 yards what is the problem?

it could be the battery, the antenna, as in not screwed in far enough, or the radio is defective, or the radio transmitting is not working correctly. If you have two radios, test it in the other direction, does the other radio receave further than 20 yards?

Giving you an exact answer is not possible.

Radios will not trasmit

The Motorola T-6510 uses FRS-GMRS frequencies the TK-3130 uses 2 UHF frequencies. Unless you had the radio custom programmed to match the GMRS frequencies it will not work.

Uhf or Vhf that is the question

UHF. To receive calls in your car, the radio would need to be programmed to a frequency matching other radio you are wanting to receive transmissions from.

All four hand held systems failed during a performance

Hi kb

That is an odd encounter, and most probably one of the R.F.I. kind. Radio Frequency Inference can be caused by many things. Sometimes it can be a nearby piece of equipment creating that much interference, that the mics could not operate. It may have been a spurious mobile radio transmitter as used with two way radio for the cops, ambo's, firies,or even a nearby Cab!! Some times faulty light dimmers can also spray RF.
To what ever end, the fact that 4 mics went down together is indicative of an external problem, and being radio mics, it would have been radio interference.
The only other thing to check is that they are UHF. there are many VHF mic systems still about, but these frequencies are now being used as part of the soon to be introduced digital TV transmission. Best check that they are UHF, The VHF type have actually been illegal for a number of years Hope this info has helped you understand your problem. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Cheers
