Here are the pinouts for the 4 wire and 6 wire D104 mics. they were great microphones back in the 1980s. I used to have one on my Ten-Tac HF ham radio.

Astatic (4 wire) Astatic (6 wire)
1- Shield 1- Shield & Blue
2- White 2- White
3- Red 3- Red
4- Black 4- Black

Yellow NC

you just need to know what the pin out is for your 10M Radio. here is what each pin is
4 WIRE MIC CABLE
Pin Number
1 Audio Shield
2 Audio Lead
3 Transmit Control
4 Receive Control
here is the manual.

I have a 6 wire D104 . How do I wire it to a Ranger 2985 dx ?

Wiring a 6-wire D104 microphone to a Ranger 2985 DX requires connecting the wires in the correct order and configuration.
The Ranger 2985 DX has an 8-pin modular plug, and the D104 microphone has a 6-pin modular plug.
Here's one way to wire the D104 microphone to the Ranger 2985 DX:
  1. Connect the red wire from the D104 to the 8-pin modular plug's pin 4 (PTT - Push-To-Talk).
  2. Connect the black wire from the D104 to the 8-pin modular plug's pin 5 (Ground).
  3. Connect the white wire from the D104 to the 8-pin modular plug's pin 6 (MIC + Audio).
  4. Connect the blue wire from the D104 to the 8-pin modular plug's pin 7 (Receive Audio)
  5. Connect the green wire from the D104 to the 8-pin modular plug pin 8 (Transmit Audio)
  6. Connect the yellow wire from the D104 to the 8-pin modular plug's pin 3 (UP-Down).
It's important to double-check the wiring configuration with the user manual of the Ranger 2985 DX and the D104 microphone. Some manufacturers have different wiring configurations and it's important to match the wiring accordingly to avoid any damage to the device.
It's also worth noting that if you are not comfortable with the wiring process, it's best to consult with a professional technician or a radio expert.

It makes no difference whether it is a dynamic mic or not it will have an audio line, ground and PTT (push to talk) line. They are the same no matter what type of mic you have.

Im trying to wire a astatic d104 m6b to a galaxy 949 mobile can you give a color code for what color wire goes were?i have black white red blue and a bare wire thank you.

This works for any mic.
dont worry about color codes. look at the switches.. there will be a common on both poles of the d104.. those need to be tied together to grnd. pin 1 on mic . the others d104 on n/c side is your rx. pin 4... the n/o one will be your tx pin 3 the other n/o will be audio and will have a wire from the mic element also on that pole of the switch. pin 2..
