Hi, it took me a long time to find the map update for my VDO 2010, but patience has paid off.
Go to www.whereis.com.au Click on the "map shop" link on the left of screen. Scroll down and you will find the link for.....
VDO Dayton. MS2010 V14.0 Update
VDO Dayton MS2010 Portable navigation system -IMPORTANT- This map update will not work in a In-car navigation system.
Click on this link, then add to cart. You will have to create a log on, but that's easy done.
Please share this with as many as possible to prevent to much frustration.
NB: I have just found this link, and have not yet downloaded new maps. Waiting for payday. But I have got far enough to add them to cart.Hope all works out for you.

I was having the same problem. NO DETAILED MAPS FOUND SUPPORT ROUTING & SO ON. I called Garmin this morning & I thought I would be on the phone forever with the gentleman. But I was on for less then 10 minutes. The guy asked me to connect my Nuvi to the computer using a usb cable, then asked me to go into my computer & look for the device/drive that my Garmin is using. He then prompted me to open the file that says Garmin & asked me if there was this file that said gmapprom.unl. I told him no & then he sent me the file through an email. I had to open the file & get it into the Garmin file. Then he asked me to disconnect my Nuvi from my computer & it started right up & the problem was gone. If you do have the same problem I am willing to email you the file he sent me if you would like because there is no possble way to get the file from just searching on the computer. Let me know. I contacted Garmin and they've had a slight glitch in size of their download. The 2010.10 download includes North America and Canada. The Nuvi 205 does not have enough memory to handle both. So if you want one or the other you'll have to contact Garmin directly and they'll do a quick install for either. It's a simple process but call them earily in the morning 8a central. Have your unit pluged into your PC or Mac and ready to go. Let them take control of your set and they'll install the correct maps. Whole process took me about 40 minutes from start to finish. Works absolutely great after that. This is unfortuntely a common problem they've encountered. If you're feeling really lucky you can delet that one file that's over 1meg and reload the whole shabang with only NA or Canada but I really wouldn't recommend it. Good luck.
