The following example shows a system that has an option to enable or disable the Boot device List F12 Option.
Go into the BIOS to enable Boot device List F12 Option (option is usually under the Startup tab).

But in my own way of troubleshooting.
1. open your Lenovo G500
2. Check your motherboard and look for bios/cmos battery.
3. Remove the battery
4. Get flat screw driver then put it between two pins where the cmos battery attached.
5. Hold it for 10 to 15 sec.
6. Put the cmos battery back and the motherboard
7. Power it up and holla the bios setting has been reset to default.
CMOS/BIOS battery is soldered on this (Lenovo G585). One of my relatives/family forgot bios password. And I can't boot from USB or CD (blocked from BIOS settings).
There usually a button cell battery on the motherboard. Remove this and wait for system to discharge there usually somewhere you can short out to remove residual charge but without details I recommend just giving 5-10 mins. Replace battery BIOS should be reset.
For that you need to reset factory defaults settings for bios. For reset bios u have to open back side of your laptop then u find motherbord circuit there. pull cmos cell on motherbord for 15 minute then it reset to defaults. Also u can reset with jumper settigns read carefully on mother bord there is 1 jumper near cmos cell u read there " bios reset or clear" It is on 1-2 position right now set it in 2-3 position then power up then all bios settings are reset. then again set it in 1-2 its original position.
