The sound does not work with phone calls

i got same prob, ear speaker randomly quit, made a few calls, worked great, friend called me, awnsered said hello like 20 times heard nothing, flipped it to speaker and works fine, its like my ear speaker quit

I had this same problem once. See if the phone works fine with the headset plugged in. If so, then something is inside the jack that must be removed. I cleared mine by just rapidly plugging and unplugging the headset jack. Then blowing in the hole to clear any debris. It fixed it right up! Verizon had no clue, and was going to just send me a replacement phone.

Try to master reset the phone by trying these codes:

*2767*3855#
*2767*2878#
*2767*688#

Doing this will delete all data in the phone but this solves a lot of issues. If this does not fix it, it is possible that your phone's speaker is already defective.

First ...check if the problem is a software problem by resetting your mobile settings to FACTORY
SETTINGS.
You can Reset your mobile to Factory Reset by typing the code below on your mobile screen:
2945#*# and choose the FACTORY RESET .But before you type the code save your important files or
data,because this code makes a HARD RESET (FORMAT) for the mobile.
After FACTORY RESET ,check if the voice of the mobile speaker came back by try to listen to some
music.If the problem still not solved that means its a HARDWARE problem and the speaker device
in your mobile hardware needs repair or needs to be replaced with a new one.
