Yes you do remove the rear plate by removing the back screws remove the knob off the timer if there is a nut holding it to the frame loosen it but do not remove until you take the back cover off when replacing the timer remove one wire at a time to keep them in order. Please rate if helpful.

It vibrates across floor when spinning

If this is a topload washer, the whole thing is suspended by four rods holding the drum, pump, motor, from the top frame. one of the grommets is probably worn out causing it to wabble when in spin. By pulling up on the top lid and frame, with a good **** to raise the top panel, will give acess to the grommets. repairs should be a minamal cost.

Maytag topload washer continues to fill with water and overflows.......

This sounds like your inlet valve has failed, located on the rear of the machine and held on with 2 screws and is easily replaced, has two wires attached to it, make sure the water and mains power is switched off.

Faulty Latch ,, i would order and replace the latch assy, you acess the latch by removingthe 4 screws in the dispensor assy, the n remove the door, andthe 2 screws opposit teh door hinge. then the front "u shaped" panel will come off and then just 2 5/16" screws on either side will release the main top assembly allowing you to tip it backwards and gaining acess to the latch assy

Trying to replace the motor on my maytag toploader washing machin

Hi There,
On the bottom of the front panel there should a philip head screw right above each fron adjusting leg.
Remove these 2 screws. Open the cover and lift up on the front between the drum & cover there are 2 metal clips holding the top down. Swing the top up and remove the front panel. The motor is right in front on the lower left. Let me know if this helps and thank you for using FixYa!
