I have the Actiontec GT704WG model and I constantly have to turn the power off and back on or reboot my computer after being away from computer for more than half an hour. I had a tech friend look at the system and he found the firmware in the Actiontec to be out of date. He tried to flash the unit but never was able to connect to it's address. Verizon says I have to pay for a new unit that this is out of warranty. They also said I might have a virus in my computer that is blocking access to the router modem. can someone please help me or should I search for another DSL provider?
Well, I could be of some help. Could u provide me the below listed information:

B. In Command Prompt window, type in 'ipconfig' and hit 'Enter'. Note down the IP Address, Subnet mask & Default Gateway here. Also, mail us the same IP configuration.
C. Type ping 4.2.2.2 and press ‘Enter’. Mail us the text that you see just below this command.
D. Type in ping yahoo.com and press ‘Enter’. Mail us the text that you see just below this command.
SOURCE: NO PSN with Actiontec GT704WG Verizon
If you can access the internet it is not a problem with the router. Are you able to access the PSN site but rejected when you enter your credentials?
