SOURCE: wiring diagram for electricmotor with capacitor
I do not have a diagram for you, but depending on the motor, I can tell you a couple of things. 1. All capacitors are wired in series with the start winding. Most multi-speed motors, that require capacitors, have two brown leads, along with the motor winding leads. If this is the scenario, then just connect line power to neutral and the speed you wish to use, and connect the two brown leads, one to each side of the capacitor. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have a delta contractors table saw that wont
Most likely to quit suddenly is the switch.
My table saw switch broke recently, and at first I thought it was the motor.
Over the years I remember seeing table saws fitted with a handy box and ordinary light switch to replace the table saw switch.
Check for power at motor: Sometimes the wire connection from switch has access box on the motor where you can get in and check for power.
probably not as different manufacturers use what ever wire is available at the time of manufacture
however there is a standard attachment method for the capacitors and that is the diagram that you should be seeking
for example-- many capacitors have two lots of connected terminals and the motor will have only 2 wire ,so connection is to one each of the terminals that is not connected
others have 3 wires so one wire on one terminal and two wires on the connected terminals
This is knowledge that motor repairs will have learnt in their trade so it may be advantageous for you do do a lot of home work on power
SOURCE: air compressor 2hp 230v 1ph motor. I need to know how to test a starting capacitor. Thanks
IF you don't have a special meter, that costs more than the capacitor, just replace it. The meter is called an ESR meter and they are $$
