From the looks of it there's no Vista support yet. Pinnacle Systems needs to come out with somekind of patch soon. I've been looking for an hour as well. Couldn't find anything but people discussing the fact that they need the patch badly. On the Pinnacle site there's a link to software for Dazzle Video Creator 9 but it leads to an error page.

I guess you'll have to watch carefully when an update arrives.
Or try to find something of an automatic update feature in the software, maybe it'll find something.

You can try simpler programs such as Windows Movie Maker but I don't think it suits your needs when you want to edit stuff.

Another solution might be Sony Vegas.

You can contact Pinnacle and ask them for a replacement key, but I would suspect they will want you to buy an upgrade to your software. If your new PC is windows 7, your 2004 software will probably not work with it even if you have a code for it.
The good news is that the newer version probably has more features etc. and an upgrade option (if there is one) can save you $ over buying a full version.
I know for my own example that Roxio (another CD/DVD program) is only compatible with windows 7 on their 2010, and now their 2011 versions. Anything else will not work.

Check to see if your system forfills the minimum system requirements.

I think the best option for you is to Upgrade to Pinnacle Studio 14 which is $0, or Pinnacle Studio 14 Ultimate, which costs $70. An upgrade is cheaper than buying the entire version which will cost you about $130. The upgrade will work with Windows 7, Windows Vista (SP2), Windows XP (SP3).

On the other hand, if a program cannot be run under Windows 7 because of compatibility issues, you can right click on the executable file that will start the application and click Properties. Select Compatibility tab and check the Windows version you know the program worked with before. This will make it run as if it was running in Windows XP. Mensaje de error 'La clave de activacion no es valida' al introducir una clave manualmente en Studio Claves de activacion se utilizan para desbloquear ciertas caracteristicas de su programa (efectos especiales, plugins etc) y se generan teniendo en cuenta el pasaporte de su ordenador.
Si ha formateado el disco duro o esta instalado Studio en un sistema nuevo, tendra un nuevo pasaporte en este ordenador y las claves que tenia antes no funcionaran mas.
Tendra que regenerar e introducir de nuevo las claves de activacion para cualquier contenido adicional (i.e. HollywoodFX pack, Video Effect, Audio Effect o 3rd party plug-in) que ha comprado y desbloqueado antes.
Tambien, si va a instalar una version de Studio mas reciente en otro ordenador (o ha formateado el ordenador), tendra que regenerar las claves para poder utilizarlas con la nueva version de Studio.
Nota: la regeneracion de claves es gratuida.

Las claves de activacion se pueden regenerar realizando el procedimiento descrito a continuacion:
Tiene Studio 12 & 11 (Standard - Plus - Ultimate) y su ordenador tiene conexion al Internet

• En Studio, click en Ayuda y seleccione Regenerar claves de activacion.
• Introduzca su direccion de email. Saldra automaticamente el nuevo pasaporte. Tiene que acceptar.
• Las nuevas claves seran regeneradas e introducidas automaticamente en el programa. Tambien puede imprimir las claves. En su correo electronico recibira un email con las claves.

Tiene Studio 10 (QuickStart - Standard - Plus) o Studio 9 (Standard - Plus) o su ordenador no tiene conexion al Internet.
1. En Studio click en Ayuda -> Mi Pasaporte. Apunta el numero de pasaporte, que es una sequencia de 5 grupos, cada uno con 5 numeros. Como es una sequencia de 25 digitos, muchos clientes prefieren copiar y pegar el numero en el campo del paso 3. Mantenga esta ventana abierta.

2. Vaya a la pagina de desbloqueo para regenerar las claves de activacion.

3. Rellene la pantalla

• Correo electronico:
• Pasaporte, manualmente o copiando y pegando el numero en el campo
• Idioma preferida

Nota: Sus clvaes de activacion seran enviadas al correo electronico. Es muy importante utilizar el mismo email que ha utilizado para registrar su producto. Si ha cambiado el email, tendra que actualizar su perfil y despues regenerar las claves.

Al haber recibido el email con las nuevas claves de activacion, las puede introducir en Studio:

• En Studio click en Ayuda -> Introducir Claves de Activacion.
• Escriba las claves en el campo apropriado y despues pulse en Aceptar.

Si no puede regenerar las claves de activacion o recibe algun mensage de error, le pedimos por favor que se comunique con el soporte por email con la siguiente informacion:

• lista de claves que se tienen que regenerar
• direccion de email utilizada para registrar el programa (si ha cambiado su email, tiene que decir esto tambien y enviar el nuevo email para que el agente actualice su perfil)
• el nuevo pasaporte
• numeros de pedido que ha recibido al adquirir las claves

Only version 10 (and higher) is supported for Windows Vista.
