Is the water Hot? ( check in mid cycle using the eye glass method)
the 2180 Model is a bit old but I am sure all parts are still available - Rinse aid ( or Rain Ex as we refer to it) to me is the most important

SOURCE: The drying vent on the front of our miele

Hi,

if you remove the door panel you will see a small hose from the fan to the combi dispener. Remove this and blow through it. Also connect it to the combi dispener and blow and then to the fan end and blow. Food and muck block the pipe and the excess water cannot escape back into the unit so instead it pours out the vent. you will find the fan is then quieter.

SOURCE: Water collects in door during drying cycle

The drain hose for the dryer fan is blocked. If you remove the outer door (six Screws three bottom screws down either side) you will see a hose that runs from the bottom of the fan to the top of the detergent dispenser, removed hose and clean this will resolve the problem

SOURCE: Miele Dishwasher is not cleaning dishes

check the filters. also check drain. Sounds like it's not fully draining and/or there is not enough water (ie. when filter are clogged)curculating to wash the dishes properly

SOURCE: miele dishwasher finishes the cycle with water in

In the bottom of the dishwasher you have a filter. under the filter is a non return valve. it is a one way valve that keeps the dirty drain water from draining back into the dishwasher. if it is dirty or broken, the dirty water that your machine drains out, is running right back in as soon as the drain pump shuts off. this will keep happening and your dishwasher will just spray the dirty water back on the dishes over and over again.

to get to it, you will need to get the water out of the machine. if you have a wet dry shop vac use that. if not, you can bail it out with a cup, and soak the rest up with a sponge. remove the lower spray arm by pulling it up. remove the filter by pulling the handle in the direction of the arrow. lift the filter out of the way. get the rest of the water out of the sump. on the left side of the sump, you will see a silver wire bail holding the non return valve in. flip the bail towards the center of the sump. pull up and out on the non return valve. it has a rubber seal and a stainless steel ball inside. any debris between the seal and the ball will keep the valve from closing all the way, and allow the water to drain back. you can order a replacement if needed, directly from miele. 1800 842 7231.

Is there a heated dry feature on the Dacor? When I open the door at the end of the cycle there is still a lot of moisture and water droplets in the unit.

Below is a website with information about your dishwasher. It says it has a condensation dryer which means it dries the dishes using the heater coil in the bottom of the unit. This is a very slow process which continues to dry even after the unit has run all of its cycles. Usually over night they should be dry but any puddling water left on the dishes such as an over turned mug or cup will still be left on the dishes. The drying is done in this way to prevent damage to delicate glassware or melting plastic items in the unit. There is no dishwasher available that can fully dry the dishes due to the possibility of damaging your dishes.

check your heater, check for continuity on the heater it should ohm out.
does the heater get hot?
are you running hot water at the sink before pushing the start button?
are you using a rinse agent such as jet dry?

Dishes not dry at end of cycle

check to see if your jet dry dispenser is empty and on some of them you can turn them up higher its important to use a rinse agent back when everyone was trying to cut down on energy use the only way to to it was to cut back on drying time so they came up with jet dry which creates a sheeting action and causes most of the water to run off before the drying cycle
