SC 553 is a fuser overheat error. If you have a fuser great, but you will still have to reset the code. Clear modes, 1, 0 ,7, press and hold clear/stop key. Menu will change, select copy sp. From there, select 5, (mode), scroll till you get to 5810. Select it, and press execute, then exit back to copy sp. Select 7 (data log) then scroll until you get to 7807. Select it, and press execute. Exit all of the way out, and recycle the power.
If it comes to ready, great. Try it. If it codes out again, you have a problem, possibly thermisters, (in the fuser), power supply getting stuck on, I/O board not regulating the power supply. Could be any of these things.
But start by resetting the code. Could be a a thermister got some toner stuck under it, and the other thermister detected a difference. It really could be that easy.

The used toner collection bottle is located behind the cover, just left of tray 1. To empty/replace this bottle, follow these steps.
At this point you can empty it or replace it, and reassemble in the reverse order of removal.

Hello.I can ASSURE you absolutely what the problem is.Your Savin copier(which is a perfectly fine device) is actaully manufactured by Ricoh.I work for a Savin dealership and Ricoh contacted all dealers WORLDWIDE with the news that due to a manufacturing defect that the touch screens of al models such as yours WILL fail. They sent out free of charge replacement touchscreens to all dealers as they have a record of how many of what type was sold by whom.I mean we had a crate of touchscreens show up at our dock at about the same time we started to get a barrage of service calls for this problem. It was one of the wildest things I've seen. Now it is just the "glass" of the touchscreen that is defective as it actually an "active" part of the op panel's circuitry of the op panel. It is relatively easy to replace. Now the question is, how do YOU aquire one,as it is a known defect and is covered by warrranty.I have to assume you purchased this device on your own and that you do not have a service agreement thru an independent dealer. My advice would be to contact whomever you bought the device from or perhaps Ricoh directly and tell them the problem and that you are aware that Ricoh is aware of the problem and see what they say.I cant tell you how many of these things I have had to replace as it is not a matter of IF there will be a problem with the Savin c3030 touchsreen, but merely when.Good luck, and although I did not "FIXYA" I hope you will acknowledge to the sight that I gave you the facts that you need. :-) Take care
