What is the model number for the water filter for the KitchenAid #KSRG25FKSS16 refrigeator and where is it found in the refrigerator? thank you.

Hello pssutherland,

I understand that you need to locate the water filter on your KitchenAid fridge. The water filter is located at the bottom of the fridge in the grill. There is a eject button that you will need to press next to the water filter in order to get it to release.
1. Press the eject button
2. pull the filter straight out
3. Remove the cap by turning it clockwise (you will need to install this on the new one)
4. Reinstall the cap on the new filter
5. Push the filter in until the eject button pops back out.
6. Purge the system run three full glass of water thru the water dispencer and throw away.
7. You are done

Kitchenaide fridge icemaker is not working at all.

Check the water flow at the door.

If the water flows slowly, then you have a clogged water filter.

The filter is either outside below the doors, or in the upper right side of the refrigerator side.

Good Luck!

Water filter removal

Lawrence, you will need to get a filter plug that replaces the filter, if you don't want to use the fridge filter element, otherwise, you will not be able to get ice and water from the dispenser.

I tried to look up the part you need, but the model number you provided appears to be missing some alpha or digits. I would suggest you contact KitchenAid or the retailer where you purchased it from, and ask them to order you the plug. Sometimes these fridges are shipped with the bypass plug installed and the new filter gets put in at installation by the delivery people, etc. If yours already had the filter installed, you'll have to buy a filter cap/plug in order to still get ice and water from the fridge.

Here's a link to a possible plug for your fridge:

Here's another one you can look at, just scroll down and you'll see the plugs mid-way down the page.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Kitchenaid fridge (ksrw25crss02)icemaker slowly stopped working, decreasing in the amount of ice it made until finally no ice at all. also, water trickles from water dispencer.

hi kev215,
welcome to fixya.com.

Huuum at your service.

You said, the ice maker slowly stopped working, decreasing in the amount of ice it made until finally no ice at all. also, water trickles from water dispenser.

The first thing I would ask is when did you last change your water filter in the fridge?
Or if it's an older fridge with an inline filter behind the fridge!
check the shut off valve for the water line that leads to you ice maker. under the sink or in the basement or where ever the line comes from. I've seen where someone turned the valve a little clockwise unbeknown to the home owner and stopped or slowed the water flow.

The water line should be checked too, for any kinking that may be running behind the fridge or some unseen place!

How old is the fridge??

Let me know,
Thank you Huuum
