I received the error code E 90 and found that most people had found an object that didn't belong and removed it to fix the problem. I did everything they said including turning the printer upside down to dislodge any foreign object. I finally realized my husband had installed the ink cartridge with the little black spacer still attached to the ink. I had to lodge it out with a pencil and now there is no problem.
Once I Lift up the scanner to access the printer area.
Press down on the ink cartridge cover to make sure it is completely closed then press start.
DO NOT Close the top until all of the processes of adjusting the gears has taken place or you will have problems with it. That is very important especially if you use ink other than Epson ink. It really doesn't like it so I fool it that way and it doesn't know the difference.
Go to printers and faxes, and uninstall the printer.
reboot, this should solve the problem

try going to Mac HD then applications then utilities folder, then go to disk utility and repair and verify your mac, then try uninstalling and reisnstalling driver. if that doesnt work, try crating a new account in which you will give an admin rights, then reinstall printer driver to that new account, then logout and return top your regular account and check if its been added.
