My LG intellowasher front load keeps on displaying dE and will not work, what should I do?
We also have now gotten the same message and same poor help the company is aware of this problem but sadly, the almost $500 replacement to fix the problem is the same original parts that go wrong in the machine so they haven't upgraded the replacement parts which means you pay to get the new part--WAIT for it to arrive because NO ONE stocks LG parts, and then the new part is not any better than the original. We are selling ours and getting a Kenmore.
'dE' is a door lock lock problem. If you replace the mechanism it should correct the problem.
In the US, you can get parts from AP Wagner, as they provide parts for Home Depot customers.
The easist way to get to the door lock is through the top. Then you don't have to worry about putting the door gasket back on as it can be tricky.

My WM1812 has a DE error but it is because the drain motor is done in after two years. Good luck with their authorized reps and getting replacement parts. I have found them to be incompetent and unprofessional. No more LG products for me.

My 2 year old + LG started showing dE errors, then becoming more frequent when starting a load, to the point of every time now. It would do this once and then resetting the door/restarting would lock the door and the cycle would begin. Now it takes several, sometimes 20 or more attempts before the door finally locks and starts the cycle. Customer service was not much help as this unit is just out of warranty and their suggestion was for me to call for service and have the CPU board replaced, if a 'reboot' does not help. I don't want to spend a ton of money and a day off for some hack to to fiddle with the door. Has anyone else had this problem and has anyone replaced the board them self?
My washer started doing the same thing, but no matter how many times we tried to reset it by closing the door it just wouldn't work. My husband thinks that the wires in the back of the lock have come loose- he pulled the lock out and messed with it and it began to work when he started the program
My LG1480FHD shows de fault when set up but machine starts after several minutes. H as anyone info on reboot procedure reffered to by above cmments or any further technical information
I push the start button, walk away and come back an hour later to find that the washer has not started. I am beginning to think I'm jinxed, as I had the original Maytag Neptune front loader and we know what a nightmare that was. I love the idea of the front load washer, but..... this is ridiculous!!!
