You will need plumbers putty and a plumber's drain tool. Put a ring of putty around the piece that will be on the inside of the tub to seal it. Then insert it through the hole making sure the rubber gasket is on the bottom side of the tub and tighten it down.

They will work, most zone controls only require the use of 1H/1C thermostats, the system stages and functions are controlled by the board itself.

If you have replaced all the parts except the gas valve. Before replacing that part you might want to consider the cost. The gas valve is the most expensive part on the water heater. If the tank is older than 10 years old it may be more benificial to just buy a new water heater. Because you don't know after investing in the new gas valve that the water heater may decide to leak.

SOURCE: Thermostat not connected for Multi-Stage Furnace.

You need to get a service tech to hook it up for you and yes you need to take advantage of the two speed furnace and varispeed air handler. If it is set up correctly you will be more cpmfortable and will have amuch lower energy bills. Tey are not hard to wire but you have to know what you are doing to do it right. So call Goodman service tech out. Amana is the same product so either one. Should not cost very much and it will pay for the service call in a couple of monthe. Rus

Gmail.comAccording to American Standard's website it says to contact a local dealer in order to obtain a manual for my thermostat, it is a Gold ZM Control. Can you provide me with a manual or tell me...

Who makes the thermostat? Most companies have an online site in which you type in the thermostat model and associated numbers and it gives you the thermostat operating procedures. Look for the manufacturer on the t-stat and go from there. Every t-stat is different as far as programming so you do need the instruction booklet.

I am trying to install a thermostat and I am not sure where to put all the wires... it is for american standard freedom 90 two stage - furnace and air conditioning

Should be like this:

Y from furnace goes to Y on thermostat (yellow)
C from furnace goes to C on thermostat (usually blue)
G from furnace goes to G on thermostat (green)
W1 (first stage heat) to w1 on thermostat(white)
w2 (second stage heat) to w2 on thermostat (black)

Doesn't sound like you have a heat pump but if you do "o" will also have to be connected which is the reversing valve.

Remove the cover of the circuit board and controls on the outside unit. Some units have a thermostat that allows you to set the temperature at which it switches to the second stage of heat. Set that for about 34 degrees.

The 44360 tstat can be used for single stage Heat pump use only. Unless you are in an environment that has greater than 40 degF outdoor temperatures year-round, you will want to return that tstat and obtain a multi-stage Heat Pump tstat. The standard system is 2-stage......1st stage is Heat Pump Compressor and 2nd stage is the backup electric heat.

Hope this helps. Good Luck. :-)

Changing Thermostats

This is one where you will need a good control man or woman. The American Standard ASYST system is not intended for the homeowner to change out. It has a room sensor wire that others do not account for.
