Poulan 530054834 HANDLE STARTER BLK

The rope that goes with the handle is something you can pick up at Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-Mart, etc. Just take a piece of what you have and match it up with the right size rope.

How do I replace the pull cord to my Poulan 446T PRO. It's a combination of a pole chain saw (8 inch) and a trimmer.

You will take the recoil assembly off the saw. You shoud see where the knot broke off the cord in the pulley. Put the cord through the case and the small hole in the pulley and tie a new knot. Count the number of turns it takes to take up the rope. There should be a small notch in the edge of the pulley you place the rope in to wind up the spring and not take up the rope.Add one or two turns more than you counted so the rope is coiled up snug then pull out the rope from the notch and let the spring retract it.

Poulan 16" cannot start...pull cord locked up

Remove the cover, should be 4 screws that holds it on once the 4 screws are loosened the rope could rewind on its own. If not check to make sure the spring is not broken.

Replace starter line on my Poulan 446T PRO Weed Eater

Its quite a job to get to the starter, you need to remove the tube and shaft from the motor, then remove the tube housing held with three screws, once removed you will find the clutch, remove the securing nut clutch and washer, now remove the screws holding the clutch housing and remove, the starter pulley is housed in this housing.

Poulan starter rope

to fix starter rope first you must wind spring and place back in housing. just grab spring by middle and wind ,you will have to get it smaller than housing hole. One end should hook to a tab at housing rest of it sets inside itself. once set in housing dont let go, insert rope housing over top & screw in. rope housing should have some return spring to it when pulled. if rope is not tight on return pull simply add one winding to spool. hope it helps!

Rewind don't work

as you put the side with the recoil starter back on the saw, ensure the rewind pack isn't binding. before tightening the screws, pull the rope out a few inches and let it rewind. if it won't, something is binding. keep moving the side panel till it will rewind. I have done this before myself. get it all put back together and it won't work.....
