My first question would by: Why do you want to close your account?

The reason I ask this question is because PayPal makes it impossible to close your account if you have any disputes against it or you've been limited or your account has been frozen by them.

They can and will limit or freeze your account if it violates any Terms of the Agreement and you have no recourse against them.

They have a list of what types of sites they won't allow you to register with them and if you do.... it gives them full authority to do whatever they want with your account.

There have even been instances where they've taken it upon themselves to close an account and keep all of the funds in it so you have to be sure that you don't violate their terms.

If you've got an account that's been limited or frozen, you can always open an account with a different payment processor that will accept your site and change the payment button on your site to the new processor.
