Hi
DRL stands for (Day running lights) which are built in to the front headlights of your vehicle and are constantly on when you switch on the ignition.

Hi! DRL means "Daytime Running Lamp". It is the lighting that you can find on the front of your car. It is automatically switched on when your car is moving forward, emitting 'white', 'yellow', or 'amber light' color.
Purpose of DRL: It is used to increase the visibility of the car on daylight conditions. (Because as we know when the surrounding is too bright or too dark for us, we can't seem to visibly see the car towards us, this can cause collision.) DRL was implemented to improve our safety on the road.
I probably should not be answering this as I'm no expert, but ...
Let's see now, DRL comes on when in gear and headlights off, emergency break off.
Silly question but, are headlights working manually (click on manually and verify both working)? High beams, low beams OK?
Check the fuse. The DRL fuse in the underhood fuse box and the label tells you which one. I think it's 31 or 32 but not sure.
Aftermarket lamps (esp the stupid blue lamps) can cause this if a higher wattage is used. (Burns the plastic lamp sockets).
Also check the DRL relay.
DRL, got DRL?
what country. , each country has its own DRL (rules)
or get the FSM?
or if lucky alldata.com,. covers this. it will if USA or Canada.
Canada uses DRL .
I have a 2008 Jetta. The symbol "!" if it has a circle around it and its yellow..it means low tire pressure..I just had that come on my car, low air will fix it. DRL means daytime running lights.
DRL (Daytime Running Lights) will come on any time you start your car.
The dash lights do not come on, unless your headlights turn on. Either by a daylight sensor or if you manually turn them on by the switch.
So even though your headlights are on with the DRL, if you notice the tail lights do not come on (just like the dash lights don't).
To test if your dash lights do work, turn your headlight switch on. You should the the tail lights and dash lights come on.
i have a 2000 saturn sl2 & noticed what i think you mean when i bot my saturn. since parking lights always come on, it's connected to them. my 'jellyfish' light goes off when i turn on regular headlights
