What does E3 mean on my Samsung dryer
For most Samsung dryers, an E3 error could mean that the dryer tub is too heavy, the vent is clogged, the thermistor is faulty, the control unit is faulty, or that there is a loose wire at the main control unit.
If you were drying a very heavy item or too many articles, try a smaller load. Check the dryer vent to make sure that it isn't blocked or clogged with lint. (I've seen the flap on a vent shift and fail to swivel properly.) Next unplug the dryer and pull it forward. Remove the back from the top (control area) and check that the wiring harnesses are fully seated. You may want to check for corrosion or damaged wires. Next check the resistance of the thermistor (mounted on the blower wheel). (Assuming a room temperature environment, the resistance should be ~6 kilo ohms.) If the thermistor is faulty, it needs to be replaced. If the above steps don't solve the problem, then the control unit needs to be replaced. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/samsung-dryer-Parts/Model-dv665jwxaa0000/1482/0151200/50039961/00001.html has the parts breakdown and many parts are available.
If the dryer is still under warranty, contact Samsung for the repair. I hope this helps.
