That would depend on the type of calculator it is. More than likely it is not worth repairing and you should consider buying a new one.

SOURCE: screen is frozen. left it unplugged

Hold down the power button for 20 seconds, at about 5 seconds the system should shut off. re-boot as normal

SOURCE: starting play dvd will start to play then screen

the freezing is due to the memory cards not getting a good connection.
reseat the memory cards in the notebook.

SOURCE: my screen on my trio

I just clicked the reset button on the side with the back of my earing for three seconds and the screen went black, so I powered it on, and now everything is fine. Try that :)

Ti 5006II frozen
I had the same problem. Solved it by pressing the D/# key (just below 5/4 key) and then pressed the P/NP key (not sure if I pressed them at the same time).
Also pressed the D/# key and 5/4 key.
In my case, the screen showed an 'E' lower left of screen, and the 'Print' and '5/4' at the top of the screen.

TI-89 Titanium screen frozen at apps menu
Remove the small memory battery, and then remove one of the four AAA batteries, then while holding down the APPS button reinstall the AAA battery and then it should say waiting to recieve operating system then hook it up to your computer with the silver connect cable and then on the computer send the operating system to the TI89 Titanium, and wait for it to install completely and it should work.

When I turn on my calculator, 1/3 of the screen is blank. When I enter numbers, they show up after the blank side. Basically, the left side of my screen stopped working, and it has nothing to do with...
The problem is in one of driver ic's that controls the LCD display is malfunctioning, the only way to correct the problem is replace the ic, this will require a technician.

Screen frozen
Hello,
When you turn the machine down, it rests where you left it, in the state you left it: In case you wanted to continue with the same program, what you have already accomplished will not be lost.

After you turn it on, Press [2nd][QUIT] or just press the [HOME] button, and it will take you home.
