Sometime you will have to pull the cord to have it set itself on the crankshaft. when you pull the rope it will fall into place.

SOURCE: The pull cord on my

On mine, the screw was bigger than the hole at the end, so there was no way to get it out. I used a hacksaw and sawed lenthwise down the shaft (the clutch housing) on the edge so I could see where the drive shaft was (you don't want to cut this). Then I cut accross the shaft (clutch housing) to expose the inside. Now I use a common screw driver and take the screw out. It also take a tourqe (star) wrench like the other screws. I guess if I don't replace the clutch I'll use it for a RC boat or something...

SOURCE: Ryobi 3000 psi pressure washer detergent injector

Most detergent injectors work by the venturi system. That is that the detergent is drawn into the stream by the forward flow of the water thru a very narrow port after the water passes thru the pump. This system works best when the pressure at the tip of the wand is low. Trying using a very large tip to draw in and apply the detergent, then remove injector and rinse with high pressure. Not good for the pump but to apply soap reliably under high pressure the soap needs to be injected through the intake of the pump. enjoy

SOURCE: Pull Rope Broke... How do I replace it and still have it retract?

with the cover in your hand pull the cord out with a pair of needle nose pliers or a little screw driver and where the cord go through the case and before the wheel. pull 5 to 10 inches out and wrap the cord around the wheel turning the wheel but not winding the cord on., do 3 or 4 wraps then pull the handle to get all the cord out and let it retract. if not enough rewind just repeat with 2 wraps

SOURCE: New Troy-Bilt 3000 psi - Very Hard to Hot Start

When you run the unit and shut if off, release the pressure from the spray wand before trying to restart the engine. This built up pressure will cause it to be very hard to start as you have found out. If it does not start on the second pull release the pressure again. Another option is do do what I did on mine. I simply put a pull tie on the handle so I can pull the trigger back and use the pull tie to hold the trigger open. Make sure if you do this, that you remove the high pressure orifice from the end of the wand before attempting to start the engine. Otherwise the pressure will come on abruptly and could injure you or do property damage.

Rope broke

Starter rope is sold at home centers like Lowes and Homedepot. It is important to buy the same thickness of rope so that an ample amount will fit into rewind spool(starter rope is sold by size from 3.5 to 6.5) . Remove the starter cover /fan cover if the starter is riveted to fan cover (or just remove the pull rewind if bolted on). With cover removed, notice how the rope enters thru bushing and ties onto spool. Visualize in which direction the spool turns when you pull the rope. This is the direction that you will be winding the spool. Fish out the old rope and wind the spool in the direction mentioned above. The spool will get tighter as you wind. When the spool will not wind another turn, back-off one turn and align hole in spool to bushing on cover. Insert rope thru bushing into hole and tie knot (any knot that will not obstruct motor parts). At this point allow the rewind to take-in the rope to stop at handle. Test your work. The rope will break if you try to start the washer under load. Press trigger on wand to release pressure. Also the rope is stressed when the operator has a very long strong arm and pulls out the rope to bottom out at the knot. Good luck with your repair

I need to replace pull rope that broke, how do I do this?

You can buy abaca fiber or nylon rope of the same length and size if you can't get an original one. Use the original handle bar for pulling. Tie one end of the rope at the center of the bar handle. Thanks for asking FixYa Customer Support.

Ryobi plt2543. was using it and was working fine then suddenly it stopped tried to started it again and couldnt because it had jammed and could not pull the cord out. what would be wrong?

first i would take sparkplug out and see if you can pull rope. if you can, it must have leaked fuel into the cyl. if you still cant pull rope, you need to take starter off and see if it is broke. if not broke motor must be locked up. i hope this helps.

The pull cord on my pressurewasher just broke How do I fix it?

Usually you have to take the shroud that contains the recoil starter assembly off to get to it. You may have to take it apart to fix the rope. If it broke on the end nearest the starter, you probably have enough rope left to reuse it. Usually they break right at the starter, due the the constant bending and rubbing. Pay attention to how it comes apart, and make sure to rewind your spring before putting the rope back on the pulley, otherwise it will not wind back up.

My neighbor just gave me a Troy Bilt 020207 power washer. It is 2450 PSI and 2 GPM. He snapped the pull cord rope. I looked at the pull cord cover and it seems to have 3 rivets holding it to the main...

sounds like a briggs engine, DONT remove the rivits, go down a little further and remove the 4 3/8 bolts that hold the blower housing on.Turn it upside down, prewinf the pulley in the direction that it turns when the rope is being pulled. When it stops turning because the spring is tight, let it unwind one turn and line up the hole in the pulley with the hole in the metal part where the rope comes in and slip the rope in, tie a not and melt the freyed end. Let the starter pull the rope in by itself.
