That 1996 is not correct (its series name only)

are you using the onboard VGA port to a VGA monitor.
The monitor shows no signal means exactly that.
This motherboard has 1 power jacks, the big one 24 pins
and the 4pin at top left of the fan.
you must use PSU v2.2 or newer to get that 4 pin power.

next time post all stickers on mobo so we can see what it really is.
they made vast numbers of motherboards. a fact.
the true sticker is on the bottom of this mobo. that is current,
the number you used is useless for support.

in fact the MSI forum posts repeat that over hand over, at MSI.com
go there and read, or post what to do.
or read the manual there, all you need is in the free manual, how to set up this mobo.
MSI is top brand. like Asus.
